Pregnant and InStyle

Pregnancy Must Have
Being Pregnant does not been you can't look your best and fashionable, being pregnant is one of the most important step and milestone in a females life. Nothing screams more beautiful than being a glowing mommy to be and with fashion.

Danica McKellar and Ali Larter look fab in fitted ruched dresses. Danica wore an EcoSkin Linnet dress ($168) as she graced the cover of Pregnancy magazine. Ali's Isabella Oliver Midi dress ($195) was the perfect outfit to wear while shopping. So many expectant celebs love this silhouette.

Bethenny Frankel was radiant in an Isabella Oliver one shoulder dress ($195). Both Heidi Klum and Angelina Jolie have worn Isabella Oliver's tank dress ($175) during their past pregnancies. If those dresses are out of your budget check out Asos Maternity's ruched wrap dress in grey ($50.55) and coral ($33.70).

Beauty and health

Beauty and Health

connection which has been recognized by many. Being beautiful by being healthy has been accepted by people across the globe. Hence, just a make up or superficial beauty does not mean that an individual is healthy. This bonding of the beauty and health can be achieved in many ways. Lets find out some secrets to enhance both at the same time.

The entire process starts with a healthy diet. It has not relationship with some special diet, this is just to maintain the balance in the body to keep it fit and healthy.

Beauty and health diet

Eat a diverse variety of food. Eating healthy leaves with the choice to taste anything good that suits your taste bud. You would not grow fat if you are working out everyday. No food can deposit the fat if your are into activities rather than being a couch potato.

Eat the required calorie. Do not consume more than you can burn. That does not mean you stop eating. Low calorie food can replace high calorie junks.

Drink more water than you usually do. Water helps to cleanse your body. It flushes the toxins out while you urinate or sweat. It also keeps your kidneys healthy and functioning properly.

Have lots of green vegetables, whole grains, seasonal fruits and make sure they are fresh. Local produce is better than packaged food.

Minimum consumption of high-calorie food is best for you. Eat moderately even if it is your favorite chocolate. After all having a bit can make you happier than having none at all.

Try to avoid too much sugar. Food high in fat and sugar can raise your cholesterol while making you prone to a heart attack.

Avoid carbonated drinks and stay healthy. Once in a while is fine but it cannot replace water. If you feel thirsty, drink water and not a cola or any fizz.

Work out for your benefit. Sweating out those extra pounds can really help you be mentally and physically stress free. Exercising is a stress buster and you would understand the best.

If you love sweets, have it. But do not make it a habit that you cannot live without them. An occasional desert is no harm.

Health and beauty salon

A health and beauty salon or a beauty shop is a one stop solution for your entire body. Your body needs pampering. After the years of harsh treatment you deserve to stop and take rest. Drop in at a beauty and health salon to feel the featherbed. The special treatments that you get at a salon are as follows:

Beauty treatments like facials, massages, manicure and pedicure are common. You can also opt for waxing and threading if those extra hair on your skin looks like an animal. Added will be a cute nail polishing and some pep talk with your neighbor while you pamper yourself. Depending on the time you spend inside you can carry a book or watch TV too if that is available.

Hair dressing is another characteristic of the salons. However, hair salons exist separately too.

You get ample supply of health and beauty products too.

New Hair Style

Vanessa Minnillo spent the afternoon today (August 10) in beautification mode.

Stepping out for some self improvement, the 29-year-old television personality kept her tresses tamed at La Scala salon in West Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Vanessa’s longtime beau Nick Lachey says he would star in a reality TV show with his lady love.

Insisting his previous experiences haven’t put him off doing a similar program, he says: “There’s nothing in the works right now. I think it would pose a unique set of challenges. I guess the positive is that I’m actually familiar with those challenges. The negative would be I’m also familiar with those challenges. It’s hard to say never to anything. You never know.”

The 36-year-old star also praises his “powerful” girlfriend, admitting he loves her femininity.
“It’s four years now. She’s probably the most unique woman I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing,” he gushes. “She’s feminine and beautiful and sexy and she’s also probably the most powerful person I’ve ever had the opportunity to know. She’s very unique, headstrong, passionate… a great girl.”

He adds: “She’s a leader, a go-getter, not one to sit back and let things be dictated to her. She and I are very much alike, two fiery people. We have the same birthday [and] we’re very similar personalities, which is great. She’s the most unique and special person I’ve ever known!”
However despite the words of love, Nick said the couple have no marriage plans yet. “I’m sure at some point I will get engaged but not even I know when that moment will be.”
Humm I have been thinking what new style I should go with, not sure if i want to do the bangs again, it is a lot of work. any suggestion?

Mending a Broken Heart

I know I blogged about this a few months ago, and right now I feel the need of blogging and writing about broken hearts again... This is dedicated to all those female or male that are going through a broken heart specially two great people I know that are going through this struggle at this moment. E. L, this is for you, we are not alone we have great friends that love and support you.

People may say no one ever died of a broken heart, but when you're suffering from one, it sure doesn't feel that way--at least initially. These suggestions may help you navigate the painfully troubled waters of a relationship that has ended and help you heal a broken heart. I have felt as is my heart really hurts, and people say the heart never hurts.

Days 1 and 2

Step 1 Breathe. All you can do is survive this first and difficult day. Take one day at a time. Give yourself permission to mourn. Call in sick at work, sleep all day, eat too much ice cream, sob. This is a hard time maybe one of the hardest, I don't do the ice cream thing, I stop eating as a whole, which is not safe and certainly not healthy.

Step 2 Congratulate yourself for being human: It is only when you open yourself to love that your heart can break. Develop and repeat a helpful mantra to get you through the initial shock and pain, such as "This too shall pass" or "I will survive." We hate listening to this if you are like I am then I feel bad this is then a very hard situation, because I am extremely impatient, but let's hang in there we will make this through.

Step 3 Reach out to a close friend or family member. It helps to share your thoughts with others. Watch a movie to distract yourself. Choose a comedy that has cheered you up in the past. Or watch a movie that's guaranteed to make you sob--it may surprise you how good that feels.

Month 1
Step 1
Week 1: Force yourself to go out even if you are feeling despondent. Take yourself out for a cup of coffee or go on a long walk. Express your emotions in a way that comes naturally. Write in a journal, paint, sculpt or play music. Do daily cardiovascular exercise--the endorphins will give your spirits an immediate lift. Resist the urge to call your ex. Instead, write a letter. Don't mail it. Go out of town for the weekend to distance yourself from the temptation to call your ex. Visit an old friend or go back home to your roots. A change of environment does wonders for the spirit. Put everything that reminds you of your ex in a box and seal it. Throw it away, donate it to charity or ask a friend to hold on to it indefinitely.

Step 2
Week 2: Surround yourself with friends. This may mean reaching out to people you fell out of touch with during the relationship. Make lists to help you regain your confidence and identity: a list of your friends, of things you like, of what you want to accomplish in the next decade. Spoil yourself: Get a new hairstyle, have a spa day or go shopping. Resist the urge to call your ex.

Step 3
Week 3: Assess the experience. Have you learned anything about yourself? Does the experience make you more empathetic to others who've suffered a hardship? Begin an activity that will fill your time, distract your mind and rebuild your confidence. Train for a marathon, take up yoga or learn a new language. Resist the urge to call your ex. Volunteer your time at a local homeless shelter, soup kitchen or tutoring center. It will take your mind off your own woes and keep your suffering in perspective. Go spend the night at a friends house enjoy it cry, talk, laugh hec that's what friends are for.

Step4
Week 4: Continue regular socializing and exercising. While socializing, though, make sure you don't depend on alcohol or drugs to dull the pain. Call your ex if you feel it would be helpful. Resist if you merely want to say hurtful things. Consider dating other people, but be wary of rebound relationships. Understand that you will need to experience and process sadness, anger, guilt and fear to fully heal. Burying or ignoring these emotions will thwart the healing process. Write, cry, share the feelings with friends.

Months 3 to 6
Step 1
Force yourself to go on dates. You'll be surprised to discover that your heart can still flutter over someone. It's part of the healing process.

Step 2
Consult a psychiatrist if you are experiencing symptoms of depression, such as lack of appetite, insomnia or too much sleeping, low self-esteem, and an inability to concentrate or carry out routine tasks. Ask a friend or physician to recommend one who is experienced in treating depression.

Step 3
Remember that healing is a process that takes time. Expect waves of sadness, anger, guilt or fear even after you think you are over it. Give your heart time to heal.

One year and beyond

Step 1
Compartmentalize the experience in your memory: "My heart was broken once. It really hurt and I'm glad it's over."

Step 2
Reach out to your ex if you want to re-establish a friendship. Do not harbor secret ambitions of winning him or her back. You'll only set yourself up for another heartbreak.

If you are going through a break up, I hope in some ways this may help you.

Body Image

Struggling with body image and weight is a true battle for me, I live on what we call the yo yo, not fun. Body image is a journey just like our life journey. It has ups and downs and periods of empowerment and pain. Often, our lives are better than we imagine. The more we hold on to what should be, the less we can see what is and what can be. Opening up to this possibility is a shift in perspective and the essence of acceptance…acceptance of constant change. It takes realizing that the journey is about the journey, and not about certain preconceived expectations and outcomes. When we are able to cultivate this vision for ourselves, we unlock our own ability to let go of judgment and find a genuine appreciation, not just of the body, but of the whole person. When we are able to cultivate appreciation and peace, there is contentment—even if all the flaws aren’t fixed. In that contentment, one is able to move beyond being stuck in the “should” position to make healthy changes in their own life.

What specific steps can we take to improve our body image?

1. Become aware: The answer is to stop, become aware of your thoughts, emotions and behaviors every day. Evaluate your perspective. Evaluate what you are buying into. Evaluate the ways in which you break down your own self appreciation and confidence. Then, begin again. Every day is an opportunity for a fresh start…of thinking, behaving, regarding the self.

2. Become a skeptic: We choose what we buy into and digest from the media….when we are aware. Call into consciousness what you know about airbrushing photos and the extreme Hollywood measures taken towards thinness and body alteration when viewing popular media or taking others’ opinions into account (they might be buying in as well). Also, comparing ourselves to others is just as damaging as buying into media. We all have unique bodies with unique requirements to be healthy and happy.

3. Cultivate a new way of being: We must cultivate the way we evaluate bodies and selves. This includes negative thought patterns and behaviors that reinforce those negative thoughts. We must mindfully move from self-criticism and judgment of ourselves and others to celebration, pride, compassion, and gratitude when it comes to our appearance and the general life we lead. Otherwise, we can drown in the failed, self-imposed standards.

4. Cultivate gratitude and kindness related to body and self: We need to learn to value what we have, not seek what we value. Recognizing what we have versus what we don’t is key in thriving in our bodies and minds. The first step is to stop resisting the bodies we have and acknowledge them in their entirety, including strengths. Be kind to yourself, when you feel you succeed and when you don’t.

5. Cultivate health: The next step is to assess our health status and habits, and identify what good health would actually mean to our particular body size, shape, conditions and overall life.

6. Practice that shift every moment of every day, on purpose. Some moments are harder than others, but bring your attention and behavior back to the practice of awareness, gratitude, kindness, health, and action.

7. Show others. If we are not aware, we too can promote unrealistic standards and pressure on others to meet those standards. We need to reinforce our friends and loved ones in cultivating a healthy body, body image, and self-worth. We don’t do this by beating up our own bodies in conversation, criticizing others or validating others’ negative body talk or behaviors. We have to set the example. We have to be the beacons of body image peace for others to follow. People respond to what we genuinely embody in our everyday lives. Something to think about. Every time we validate or celebrate that “control” in others or others’ perceptions of how they “should” be versus how they are now and their efforts to be healthy, we further perpetuate this problem among us. All you have to do is be you…the best you that you can be. Health, self-worth, inner strength, and confidence are intricately related. If we can acknowledge our strengths and maintain our health, our confidence thrives…and comes through to those around us.

The bottom line on body image is that we need to shift the tide from a focus on what is lacking, and judgment of ourselves and one another (based on unhealthy and unrealistic standards), to health, wellness, and appreciation for what is.

Things I Love Thursday

Things I love Thursday

First thing I love about this Thursday, the people I have in my life :)

Going home to change, jog and then pick up my friend who is in town.
My planner. It's a must, Simply because I am an organizational freak, and do love so to have everything written and planned out. Though I hardly ever follow through. It’s just nice to know that I have some control of my future.
Long weekend ahead, it is the 4th of July weekend, and not only am I off from work Friday and Monday, but most important I will be with my family and friends, that I love and cherish. They truly do complete me.
Movie time with my kids.
I hope you all have a great weekend and a truly happy and blessed weekend with the people that truly mean the world to you!!
