We hope you are all having a great start to your new years.  Any resolutions?  i opted out of making any new years resolution, this year I chose to not go by a calendar date to start something, but just work on what I want to accomplish as it comes.  Why start a diet Monday, why not today? My mother is one to always say "why leave for tomorrow, what you can do today?  Well this year I am taking her advise to the heart and with this said I wish you all a Happy, Successful, Healthy New year.

How To Get Your Monday Started

How To Get Started

Yes, I know, we all dislike Monday, for a lack of a better word.  Monday's can be mayhem or exciting depending in which way you look at it.

How can we get our week started, how do we motivate ourselves for the week ahead?

Here are 3 Simple Techniques

Always make sure you go to bed, with a nice soothing clean room. This helps the mood. Fill your room with scents, colors you like etc.

Tech 1.
The Sky has no limit- therefore stretch your body.  This will help loosen up your joints. Take 3 minutes of quiet time to reflect and take in the week ahead. Releasing stress and concerns,  and thinking about the good thing you can do this week, slowly as you stretch and meditate inhale and exhale as you contract.

Tech 2.
Allow your mind to wonder and as previously blogged, write down your thoughts and feelings about those good memories.  This can boost up your Monday.

Before your cup of coffee, have a glass of water first.

Tech 3.
Exercising in the morning is another form of boosting up your day and your metabolism.  If you can and have time a morning workout can be the fix and or the picker upper of your Monday.

Tech 4.
Concentrate on important task one at a time, and allow yourselves enough time to get ready.  It helps you to have a morning blastoff.

Tech 5.
Last but not least. There is nothing more motivating than getting started, with a project or plan even better a habit. There is the excitement and freshness as you are about to get going. Take these and apply and your Monday will be a lot better.

Goals

Most of us write down resolutions, and many of us don't keep them.  I started mine right after.  I took new years day to relax, but the following day, I was on my grind.  Losing weight plays a huge role in my life and self esteem. I had a baby a year ago and gained 50 pounds in which, I have struggled to lose a lot of it, not because it's hard, but simply because of the lack of energy and dedication.  I must admit I did lose all my baby weight and I am currently at the weight I had before getting pregnant, however; there are a few things that need to get adjusted that were not there before baby and this is what I am working on.  I would love to lose 20 pounds which is what I am aiming to do before the spring rolls around, and this was the weight I was when I was dedicated to my workouts.

This picture was taken Saturday 1/2, where I started my goal/resolution, I will update you all on how I am doing  and where I am.  Once I complete my goal I will post my weight on the scale.  Wish me luck. I know I can do it, I am very determined  person, once I get my mind on something.

Let's do this together.  Let the new year begin!

Feeling Gorgeous

Making the most of your assets

Get Gorgeous

They say that beauty comes from within, but how do you make your inner beauty shine through? Reveal a more beautiful you from the inside out with these tips. Beauty is a word with endless meaning. Despite this, it does tend to describe a positive energy coming from within, not a state achieved by make-up and varnish. If you want others to feel that you are beautiful, you need to feel the same about yourself, both inside and out.

Watch a funny movie. Laughter has been shown to decrease stress and boost mood and optimism. When you feel good, you look good—after all, happy people radiate an appealing glow.

Take a picture of yourself right after a workout. Notice how exertion brightens your eyes and cheeks and causes you to hold your head high. Look at the picture often as inspiration to exercise, which naturally gives your body and spirit a boost.

Stand up straight. Not only will you strengthen your back muscles, you’ll exude confidence and beauty.

Focus on What You Do Have, Not on What You Don't .The sum is not always greater than the whole of its parts. Sounds counter intuitive  but when it comes to feeling beautiful, it's important to keep this in mind. Women who focus on features they like (rather than those they don't) and use them to serve their self-image are more likely to say they feel attractive. It is well known in the fashion industry that some models are branded for their great legs or long necks. They use these assets to feel beautiful. Sometimes only their hands or feet are considered marketable material. Take a look at yourself and choose one feature you like and embellish it. Delicate wrists? Wear an eye-catching watch. Thick hair? An elegant headband or jeweled clip can draw attention where you want it. Good posture? Standing tall can make everything else about you look and feel more attractive.

Positive Life

Making changes and trying to always do my best to be positive and live a healthier, happier life.

I came across some great tips in the internet and some are just my life experience. Let's put them to good use and live a happier life, we deserve it.

See the positive side, the potential, and make an effort.” ~Dalai Lama
Negative thoughts drain you of energy and keep you from being in the present moment. The more you give in to your negative thoughts, the stronger they become. I like the imagery of a small ball rolling along the ground, and as it rolls, it becomes bigger and faster.
That’s what one small negative thought can turn into: a huge, speeding ball of ugliness. On the contrary, a small positive thought can have the same effect blossoming into a beautiful outcome.
When we start to have negative thoughts, it’s hard to stop them. And it’s much easier said than done to shift your focus to positive thoughts. But it’s the only way, especially if you want to avoid going down a path that is painful and unnecessary.
Here are ten things I did to help overcome my negative thoughts that you can also try:
1. Meditate or do yoga.
It took my focus away from my thoughts and brought my attention to my breath. Yoga is also very relaxing which helped ease my mind. Yoga helped me stay present to my experience so instead of jumping to what could happen, it brought me back to the now—the only moment, the most important moment.
2. Smile.
I didn’t do much of this during the week, specially because I have to go to work and leave my baby, so I literally had to bring myself in front of a mirror and force myself to smile. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. I also felt lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.
3. Surround yourself with positive people.
I called a friend who I knew could give me constructive, yet loving feedback. When you’re stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking.
4. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive.
For example, instead of thinking, “We are going to have a hard time adjusting to our living situation,” think, “We will face some challenges in our living situation, but we will come up with solutions that we will both be happy with.”
5. Don’t play the victim. You create your life—take responsibility.
The way I was thinking and acting, you would think I was stuck. Even if our living situation becomes unbearable, there is always a way out. I will always have the choice to make change happen, if need be.
6. Help someone.
Take the focus away from you and do something nice for another person.
7. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.
It’s easy to dwell on your mistakes. The only thing you can do now is learn from my mistakes and move forward.
8. Meditate.
I do not understand the bible too much, but when I sit and read a verse and meditate on the word and my life I find that this always makes me feel better .  It's a way to talk about my problems, concerns with god and this believe it or not gives me a sense of peace and some how provides an amazing stress relief.
9. List five things that you are grateful for right now.
Being grateful helps appreciate what you already have. Here’s my list: My health, my children, my boyfriend, and for my dad being cured from cancer, my family.
10. It's your choice to choose.
Choosing joy intentionally each day, even when the nitty gritty threatens to over take me, once I realize that things that felt big probably aren't, I learned that the small moments are the ones I'll remember for a lifetime!

Happy positive thinking!

Daily Meditation

Daily Meditation, May You Be Peaceful

We should all meditate in the morning.  This can allow us to go through the day with a different min set.  We all have challenges we are facing in one way or the other, but allowing some meditation, this can help us ease through the day.

We all need help maintaining our personal spiritual practice. We hope that these Daily Meditations, prayers and mindful awareness exercises can be part of bringing spirituality alive in your life.
Today's meditation features a guided meditation by Buddhist teacher Sharon Salzberg. As you rush through the day, take a moment to stop and perceive the world. Direct loving kindness to those around you, and feel the sense of peace that washes over you.

Be Awesome

Do's and Dont's Of Maintaining Our Fabulous Self.

DO: BE Yourself!
This is at the very top of the list for a reason friends.  Every day, every hour, every minute you gotta be rocking your fabulous authentic , unique nature. This is the key to being a true Fabulous girl and necessary for living the fabulous life  This year make it about yourself!

DON’T: Short change your worth
I have and still am learning this, from family, friends, co-workers, business friends, and hot fabulous mom and great friends. After years of drilling into my own head the value of my work, I have set my sights on correcting my own head-space regarding my skills and unique talents. At times you may forget to be your own investor and neglect to put real value on your time, your talents, your energy, your body, even your own SOUL as you negotiate through life. Remember your worth. Don’t sell yourself short to others or activities that just aren't worth the awesomeness  that YOU are.  We are fabulous ladies remember that.

DO: Have courage to transform into yourself   While the core of you may not change much or at all, how you feel, what you want, and how you want to express yourself can and does change. Oftentimes this goes against convention or what others may think you should be. You’ve gotta get brave whenever you feel the need to change. Whether it’s making a big change to your style, growing up into your own sexy woman, or taking on a new challenge you’ve gotta let the world know YOU make the final decision for yourself every time. Not your mom, not your BFF, not your boyfriend, not your husband, not your office, not your church, not your neighborhood. YOU.

DON’T: Let yourself get stuck in a funk I happened to start the new year excited and happy with all great ideas and filled with positives, then some life situations sneaked up on me. Instead of thinking these occurrences spelled nothing but doom and heartache for me the rest of the year I thought to myself – awesome, lets get this funk out of the way now, so I can get back to making the rest of 2015 fabulous. And I am still trying and although I go through my moments frequently, I also remember, Funk happens, that’s life, just don’t let it rule over you or stop you from jumping on all the good stuff that this year has left for you.

Tuesday June 30, 2015, Copeland was promoted Principal Dancer At the American Ballet Theater, becoming the the first African-American woman to be named a principal in the 75-year history of American Ballet Theater.

Misty, was interviewed and this is what she said. “I had moments of doubting myself, and wanting to quit, because I didn’t know that there would be a future for an African-American woman to make it to this level,” Ms. Copeland said at a news conference at the Metropolitan Opera House on Tuesday afternoon. “At the same time, it made me so hungry to push through, to carry the next generation. So it’s not me up here — and I’m constantly saying that — it’s everyone that came before me that got me to this position.”

5 Changes That Can Make You Live A Happier Life

Changes That Can Make You Live A Happier Life

With the stress of today's fast pace society that we live in, it's easy to get overwhelmed with responsibilities. A lot of the time our lives can be all work and no play, for the most of us, in-which can contribute to feeling down, unhappy and bored of our day to day, etc..

I have put together a 5 tips on how to live a happier life. These tips are based on my own experiences and books that I have read. We can change friends!

5 Simple Tips

Put The Past Behind You.

You can't change it, so don't wear it like a chain.  Understand it. learn from it. Turn the experience into a positive, use it to look ahead. I understand this is easier said than done but give it a try.  I had to do this in order to move on.

Stand In Your Own Two Feet

You cant find real fulfillment unless you do. You can't flourish in someone else's shadow. Take the risk. Endure the falls. Learn from them. Enjoy the self -respect. Savor the freedom.

Change Directions

Even a small change can reap big benefits. Consider alternatives. Look with fresh eyes. Register patterend, feel where you are blocked or stale. Try something new. Start with small things and experience the differene.  Then you will see the more important changes and you will make them natrual.

True life is lived when tiny changes occur- Leo Toldtoy

Assert Yourself.

STEPPING OUT of your comfort zone offers so much.  It changes the way you look at yourself.  It changes the way others view you.  It alters the dynamics of relationships. It opens new paths for you. Go ahead try it.

Have Faith

In a cynical world. faith is all more important. Nurture your faith in yourself, in your beliefs, in love, in kindness. Recognize its mystical power. Embrace it. Use its strength.

Faith sees the invisiabe and achieves the impossible.- Anonymous

Hope these 5 tips can help change your life to a better you.

Until next time.

New Years Resolution

It's the time a year again, where we all revisit the past year.  We think of what we did, where we were, what we accomplished, what hurt us etc... Yes, the time is has arrived when we want to join the gym, eat healthier etc.. As for me, I am doing things different this year. I will share 10 new ideas, that you may feel free to try as well.

Here are a few different New Years Resolutions.

1. Visit 3 different travel places, it doesn't mean spend money if you can't and travel, it can be a road trip. This will help you accomplish your travel goal. Make a visual record of the year by making sure you get a photo of your self  (selfie)taken in each place.

2. Soak up New Skills – Learning something new and interesting is always fun and a value addition too.

3. Expand your social circle, try to meet new people, by making a conscious effort to attend to social events, chat to strangers and introduced to friends of friends.  Making friends with people with different personalities and interests from can be particularly beneficial in helping you broaden your horizons, explore different sides of your personality and find new ways to get the most out of life.
  • 4.Take up a new hobbies, such as Yoga, swimming, or just find your inner child and  learn how to do a hand stand, this not only does the body good but it also helps our soul feel young.

  • 5.Secure a future with fewer trips to the doctor – exercise. Select a regime you can stick to. A group activity may add the element of fun to the routine.  Develop a good relationship with your body. Many traditional New Year’s resolutions centre around improving our bodies in some way, whether by taking up a diet or joining a gym. Next year, make it your resolution to start to love the body you’ve got instead. While this doesn’t mean you can’t make changes to your diet and fitness regime if your health requires it, it does mean starting to love who you are in the process.  Work on improving your body confidence by focusing on the things you do like rather than those you don’t, and learn to dress according to your body shape, showing off your favorite features.

6.The the unusual, It’s easy to get into a rut where we do the same things day in, day out, with our days passing us by as a routine-filled blur. Next year, spice up your routine by vowing to do one small thing differently each day or week. Wear something you wouldn’t normally wear, run a different route, or order a different coffee perhaps. Also, don’t fall into the trap of postponing your happiness by saving everything special 'for best'. Instead, brighten up a routine day every so often by donning your diamond earrings, swapping faded comfy panties for your favorite silk underwear, or eating those fancy chocolates washed down with a glass of champagne!

7. Organize your financial worries,To help get your year off to a good start, try getting your finances in order by making a resolution to sort out one area of financial worry. Perhaps you spend a fortune on gas  or maybe it is your food bills that are blowing your budget? Try to think of some alternatives to the main causes of financial stress,  grow your own vegetables if you own a home and are able to grow vegetables, make your own beauty products. Not only will coming up with alternative solutions help you save some money, you may find that you enjoy them and that they boost your health too.

8.
Be sincere about punctuality and commitments – This is a resolution, if followed, would help you succeed in life and be respected too.

9.
Unleash the Angel in You – Nothing feels better than seeing a smile on someone. Do your bit to stand by people who need support. Every little help matters.

10. Liven up Your Lifestyle Professional growth is okay, but your personal life requires attention too. Strike a balance.

Food For Thought Monday

Food For Thought

Great fortune+++++++++++++++++++Remind yourself often of how fortunate you are. The more you realize and recall your good fortune, the more good and valuable things you can do with it. Try as often as you can
to realize how much more fortunate you are then many others
in this world rather then the other way. This is the key to realizing
good fortune.Your true fortune has little to do with the size of your bank account or your material assets. The greatest fortune you have is life itself, and the opportunity to live each moment with awareness and effectiveness. The news is full
of those so much more less fortunate and those who might
not ever be able to say or feel that. There is endless fortune in your ability to choose what to do with each moment. There is limitless fortune in your capacity to feel love, awe, compassion, gratitude and pure joy IF you open yourself up to it. Let go of your need to control
everything you do or commit to. Be free to try things after you deem
them to be worthy of your time and effort. Face your fears and
remove them as the blockages they are.Spend some time each day thinking about how truly fortunate you are. Let the warm feeling of that magnificent fortune permeate your awareness and allow yourself to be so very thankful for what it is you do have.
you do have The great fortune of your life is here and now. Live it with joy and meaning.

Get Going++++++++++

Stop telling yourself why you cannot do it and start reminding yourself why you must. When you change your negative reinforcement and you have a strong enough reason why, you'll get it done.

It can be all too easy to come up with excuses. And it can be all too easy to let those excuses stop you in your tracks. This is giving up and not being willing to do the hard work necessary to achieve. Everything comes with
a price.

Yet you can also very easily let go of those excuses. Though they may sound impressive, when they are no longer valid for you.

Because now, you have chosen to move forward. As of this moment, you have reconnected with your purpose and you're clear about why you must.

Effort, as difficult as it may be, is a joy when there's a good, solid, meaningful reason behind it. On this very day, you can experience that joy if you allow yourself to connect to the end result of why you're doing what you're doing.

Get up, get going, and thoroughly enjoy the process of the achievement. Remember why you must, and get it done.

Every Day

Good Evening!
I wanted to take a moment to motivate, inspire & encourage you. I know that We all want nothing but the best for ourselves and our future. Whether you have started your healthy & fit journey or perhaps you are trying to get motivated to begin. Either way it is a choice that only you can make and work at. There are times that you may feel like there is not much progress happening. Because we live in a "I want it now" society we expect instant noticeable results. Yes, that would be awesome if that were the case. But we live in this wonderful world called reality. The hardest and more rewarding thing you can obtain in your journey is focus. If you can stay focused, everything else will be a breeze. So know that you are on the right path...just stay focused for speed bumps and detours.
