Stress Relief Techniques

Good Morning Lovers,

Today I am going to blog about the importance, of breathing techniques, when one is feeling stressed. Work, is killing me these days, I am loaded with tons to do and no time to think, move or even go to the ladies room, yes friends that busy! The more I do, the more gets handed to me... I can not take one more project! therefore; I decided to browse through the net and see what I can find to help me alleviate some of my work stress and handle the situation better, This is what I came across. I will be trying this i hope it works... so if you are stressed my friend you may want to but this to the test... I hope it works for you as well.

Release Tension with Stress Relief Breathing.
Stress relief breathing is an excellent way to release tension, and melt away the aggravations of the day. Stress relief breathing is recommended by doctors, as well as mental health professionals,as a helpful method of reducing anxiety, and promoting a calm sense of well-being. You can practice your breathing anywhere you happen to be,at anytime you begin to feel stressed. If done on a regular basis, you can even prevent the stress from occurring in the first place.

  • Very slowly, begin inhaling deeply, paying close attention to how your lungs are filling up with air.

  • Breathe in as deeply as you can, feeling the expansion of your chest.
If you can, hold your breath for a count of five.

  • Again, very slowly, release the air from your chest.

  • Focus on how your lungs are slowly deflating. You should be letting the air out almost in a hiss.
Repeat the process two or three times, and you'll start noticing a difference in the way you feel. You may feel light headed, or even sleepy. That's perfectly normal, so don't be alarmed. You've done a wonderful job in releasing negative energy from your body.

Sunday, I had brunch my my girl friend, then went for some make up shopping.. yes in the pouring rain... but a mother needs to take what ever chances she can get to spend some me time to look fabulous. For the most part my weekend was good and some where in between I relaxed.

My Fun Book Recommendations

Teen Recommendation The Beacon Street Girls books Series

The Beacon Street Girls books are inspired by all the preteen girls I've ever known. I wanted to create a world where girls can go to have fun and learn about who they are, while modeling real-life experiences. The first book, Worst Enemies/Best Friends, explores creating and testing friendships, skewed first impressions, and being the new kid at school. In the end, true friendship conquers all. Welcome to the world of the BSG! My daughter is reading the series and it is very entertaining and she love it.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

My son found this book absolutely hilarious! I bought the 4 book set, it was cheaper then buying them individually, and read them through out the summer. The characters were very realistic and impressionable. A great read! My son finished the first book in 2 days, this was amazing, he just thought it was funny and fun to read, he read all 4.

Book Recommendations For Baby

Whether playing with rattles and having a bath or bouncing balls and painting pictures—the day is packed with fun things to do in these lively board books. With familiar activities to recognize and enjoy, each page of Look at Me! features a different part of a baby's routine. Great read.

This beautifully written, heartfelt memoir touched a nerve among both readers and reviewers. Elizabeth Gilbert tells how she made the difficult choice to leave behind all the trappings of modern American success (marriage, house in the country, career) and find, instead, what she truly wanted from life. Setting out for a year to study three different aspects of her nature amid three different cultures, Gilbert explored the art of pleasure in Italy and the art of devotion in India, and then a balance between the two on the Indonesian island of Bali. By turns rapturous and rueful, this wise and funny author (whom Book list calls “Anne Lamott’s hip, yoga- practicing, footloose younger sister”) is poised to garner yet more adoring fans.

I hope you enjoy my fun book recommendations for this month.

Time Relax

All I need right now is sometime to relax.
Relaxing is a funny thing. We all say we want to relax more, but then we say we don’t know how to relax.

I don’t think its so much we don’t know how to relax, I think we don’t allow ourselves the time to relax. No one can’t relax in five minutes in front of the TV. We can’t do it while sitting at a red light. We need to make time each day to do something we really enjoy. Read a book, work in the yard, paint a picture. It doesn’t matter what we do to relax. It only matters that we are doing something that makes us release the stress of the day and allows our body and mind to relax. Let us try to put this to the test. I know I did relaxed this past Sunday and I loved it... Since at times my blog is like a journal, I figured I would share with my readers how in need of a relaxed day I need.

Back To School Tips

It's hard to imagine that summer vacation is coming to an end... the days are still long and warm, sleeping-in continues to be the fashion and you may still have another road trip in store.
Mommy's and Daddy's it is the time of the year where we start getting our bundles of joy packed up and ready to take on a new year of school, learning, and lots of knowledge for both parents and children.

Below you will find a few back to school tips, I came across. I must say this year I am very lucky, the Town where I live, kids have to wear uniform, and this makes me happy and this is why, cuts down on the clothing spendings! How do you mommy's and daddy's feel about school uniforms? I personally love it, although it is nice dressing your kids and allowing them to explore their own sense of unique fashion style, and great to see them grow from mommy dressing them to having them pick out their own clothes, but for our budget uniform really helps.

Tips

Shop at Home

Before you go shopping, take a home inventory of school supplies and clothes. Have your kids try on last year’s jeans to see if they still fit, and make a note of what basic clothing items need to be replaced. Look in drawers and cabinets to find the notebooks and calculators you already have.

Shopping Stragety

It’s tempting to do all your back-to-school shopping at once and get it over with, but you’ll save more money by shopping around. Go online to look at sales circulars, compare prices, and find out which stores in your area match competitors’ prices. If your state has a sales tax holiday, save big purchases for days they will be tax-free.

Compromises
At some point, you’re bound to clash with your kids over clothes. Avoid power struggles in clothing stores by being prepared to suggest compromises. Have your daughter pair a spaghetti strap top with a T-shirt. When your son picks out oversize pants, find a pair of baggy pants in his size that won’t fall down when he walks. ( I can not stand to see kids walk around with their pants half way their butts)

Backpacks

Heavy books and a poorly fitting backpack can cause muscle injuries and joint problems. Be sure to choose a backpack for your child that is lightweight when empty. Look for backpacks that have these features:
two wide, padded shoulder straps that don’t dig into shoulders
a padded back
a waist strap
a chest strap
Healthy Foods

The grocery store is an important back-to-school stop. Pick a variety of nutritious foods for your kids to eat for breakfast. Eating a good breakfast helps students concentrate better in class and maintain a healthy weight. If your children are tired of cereal, try bagels with a nut butter, smoothies. If your child is into sports like my son make sure he is eating healthy.

I will continue blogging about back to school tips, and information through out the month of August... Stay Tune.

Katie Holmes

I am loving the cover of Katie Holmes in the New York Mag.

She looks great, Katie, is one of my favorite Fashion Inspiration, she is not afraid to play with style and I love that. My co-worker came by and gave me the magazine since I love mags. I was reading through and this is what she has to say.

Katie Holmes has not lived the typical Hollywood story. She’s a Catholic schoolgirl from Toledo, Ohio, who went to L.A. for the first time when she was 16; she arrived on a Sunday and was cast in Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm the very next day. Dawson’s Creek came a year after that, and then there was Batman Begins, and then there was perhaps the world’s most famous courtship, and then there was the birth of the world’s most famous baby, and then, three years ago, her marriage to Tom Cruise, arguably one of the world’s most famous men.

And this is how the New York Magazine interview with Katie Holmes opens up. They ask Katie all the good questions from whether or not she really is a Scientologist – to what it’s like being married to Tom Cruise. Also – Katie Holmes is designing her own clothing line !Here is just a bit of the interview with Katie, read the rest of the fascinating article here!

Is Suri into clothes too?

I grew up the youngest of five, so there were a lot of hand-me-downs that I would sort of change up. And Suri and I do that now with her clothes. Or rather, she does it. She says, “I want this sleeve cut,” and it’s like, “Okay, we’ll cut it.” She picks out all of her own clothes and has since she was 1½. Tom and I went to the Met ball a couple of years ago, and I had this beautiful red gown and these royal-blue shoes that I wasn’t planning on wearing, but Suri made me put them on and so I was like, “Okay, I trust you.”

You’re playing Jackie Kennedy now. Do you think about your experience in the public eye while doing the role?

I’m just focused on creating a character as much as possible without knowing what was going on behind closed doors. In my own life, it’s just something that’s there. We luckily have security so I can focus on motherhood and work and other things.

Is it complicated balancing your schedule with Tom’s?

We have quite a schedule, you know? We don’t say, “When I’m working, you don’t work,” or anything like that. Last year he was shooting Knight and Day and I was shooting The Romantics, and we’d just fly to see each other after we wrapped. And we homeschool Suri—she has a teacher who is with her every day. We like the one-on-one education. I’m happy that my daughter is strong-willed and determined. You really have to go with what the child is wanting.

Would you and Tom ever work together?

Well, we do collaborate on everything at home. But I mean, he’s Tom Cruise! His body of work is incredible. Every movie he’s done has done really well. I look back, and everything’s a classic. I definitely come home and say to him, “So, imagine a scene … how would you play it?” And he’s helpful and sweet and gracious. He’s quite an incredible human being.

Do you read the various speculations about your marriage?

It’s there, it’s one of those things. My big concern is what does he have going, what do I have going, what are we going to do this weekend. It must seem weird, I guess, having so many people watching. It is weird. I get it. But you just, you know, smile and nod.

At Home Pedicure

Mommy's and Friends, if you are a new mommy and might not have the time to go to a nail salon, or if you just cant afford at this time to spend 60 dollars on a pedicure, I have saved your life well your feet lol, Below are some great at home pedicure tips.
When it comes to body care, we often neglect a very important part of our body, which are our feet. Our feet help us to move and be active, therefore foot care should be made an important aspect of the beauty regime followed by all. Though we may not realize it, it is our feet that bear most of the brunt of our daily stress. The stress on our feet can be so severe that they may even cause headaches, (remember ladies well I can only speak for my self, but I am always in heels).

But after all the stress that we subject our feet to daily, we still expect them to look perfectly beautiful at all times. But this cannot be possible until we take good care of them and set up a regular foot care regime. A pedicure is that care and pampering that we can give to our feet. Pedicure done once a month or twice a month can help keep the feet attractive and healthy.

If you have some time to spare for your feet, then you can do a pedicure for your feet at home. This would not take more than an hour and the process would be very relaxing. However, if you wish you can also get a pedicure done at a beauty parlour with the help of professionals. Pedicure can also be carried out at home too and natural pedicure can do a world of good for your feet. For doing pedicure on your own, there are a few special items that would need and believe me, they are worth the investment and they last a long time. These products include:

Nail Polish Remover
Cotton Wool
Nail Brush
Hoof Stick or Cotton Buds to push back the cuticles
Toenail Clippers
Emery Board
Cuticle Remover
Filer
Nail Polish
Pumice Stone
Loofah
Large Bowl

Pedicure Tips
In a large bowl containing warm water, pour a little foaming gel. Form lather and add a few drops of lavender essential oil or other essential oils of your choice and suitable for your skin. Soak your feet in this and relax for 5-10 minutes.

Take one foot out of the water, and massage a foot scrub paying special attention to the dry areas and cuticles. Cover with a plastic bag and repeat the same procedure with the other foot. Leave on for 10 – 15 minutes
Remove your feet from the bags and dip them in the bowl of water again, which must have cooled by now. This will help in better circulation.

Now, remove feet from the bowl, use a loofah to scrub and deep cleanse and rub pumice stone on the sole and the top of the feet, in gentle motions, putting maximum pressure on the heel and ball.

Now trim your nails and smooth the edges with an emery board. Use the cotton pad to apply a cuticle remover. Wait for a few minutes, gently push the cuticle back with hoof stick. Soak your feet in the water.

Take your feet off the bowl, wipe with a towel and apply a moisturizer.
Next, apply a base coat of nail polish and top coat. Leave on for sometime and apply the nail polish again

Pedicure helps to tighten the skin on your feet and soften the hard and dry areas of your feet especially the soles. A pedicure is also good for your nails. A regular pedicure will give you the beautiful feet you have always desired. Browse through our pages to learn more about foot care and foot care products.

Enjoy

My Weekend Recap.

Good Morning Lovers,

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I didn't do much but it sure felt like a good one. Staying home and making it a movie weekend with my 2 reason of living made it the perfect weekend. Friday we watched The Dairy of a Wimpy Kid, and Saturday we watched Our family Wedding, in honor of My 2 yr anv. Lol. My wedding was no were compare to the one in the movie (mine was better lol), but it was nice and funny to watch, we all enjoyed it.

Sunday, lazy lazy day. Stayed home for the most part, in my Victoria Secret Wrap that I love, updated and caught up on my blog, facebook and some reading... along with my morning coffee... I also did the whole breakfast in bed. Loved it. Later on in the evening my family and I headed to dinner at my uncles, where we did a Mexican theme dinner Chicken Quesadillas yum!!! and this my friend made my weekend complete. Sometimes, it is just nice and relaxing to not do much and spend some quality time at home with your family and I did just that this weekend.

Do You Think You Are Expecting?

Pregnant? Not pregnant? Before you start getting too excited (or start freaking out), here’s a few simple starter tips to help tell if you might be preggos:
You’re tired: You come home from work and can barely keep your eyes open. Try to get your rest now… Chances may be that you are expecting.

You’re nauseous: Keep the crackers near by, you start to eat something and all of a sudden your stomach takes a turn, and now you feel nauseous.

You pee all the time: The bathroom will become your best friend. Might as well get in a routine of keeping the bathroom spotless now. No one wants to lay their head on a dirty toilet.

Food aversions: WWIII almost started in my household when I couldn’t find a place that had French home mad breaded pizza. I hadn’t had it in about 2 years, but you would have thought the world was going to end if I didn’t eat it. My ex-husband … He called these nights, my “pregnancy meltdown!”

Mood swings: All of the above will explain it.

*BONUS* You could always take a pregnancy test, too.

Good Luck
