Strollers and Celebs

ABC News had an article regarding Celeb Baby Strollers: What It Says About Mom.  I thought it was great to share.

It's the most important baby-equipment choice a mom-to-be makes: the all-important baby stroller. After all, the stroller says a lot more about the mom pushing it than it does about the baby inside. Celeb moms make very different choices about what they use to move their most precious cargo so ABC News checked in with Leslie Venokur, one of the founders of Big City Moms, to find out what a stroller tells us about the celeb pushing it.

It appears Jenna Bush Hager also loves the practicality and versatility of Uppa Baby. Here, she takes a walk along the Hudson River in New York City with mom Laura Bush and her baby daughter, Margaret Hager on May 20, 2014

Drew Barrymore's Uppa Baby Vista
"The Uppa Baby Vista is such a practical stroller. Drew Barrymore is so relatable to so many moms - she is like the girl next door - so its no wonder that she uses the Uppa Baby Vista," Venokur said. "It has a huge basket underneath which is perfect for all of Drews walks to the farmers market or a trip to the park with her mom friends. And the additional seat option or adding the "piggyback" ride on accessory is perfect for big sister Olive to stroll with as well."

Kendra Wilkinson's Stokke Xplory
Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett welcomed their second child last week. They are already parents to son Hank Baskett IV, now 4. But before Hank was walking, Wilkinson used the Stokke Xplory to wheel him around -- something she may use again for their baby girl.
"Kendra needs a stroller that works for both herself and Hank," Venokur said. "Kendra is so petite and Hank is so tall! The Xplory is a great choice for them as the handlebar is adjustable and can accommodate both of them. The storage on this stroller is not ideal -- but Hank can just do all the heavy lifting! Also, Kendra is a bit of a flashy person -- she loves to be noticed -- and this stroller does turn heads..because of both look -- and the price point."
Cost: $1100

With Jessica's new "being the healthy/fit mom" as a role model for other moms, the revolution is a great choice for her. It's perfect for jogging and not too cumbersome so she can use it as an everyday stroller," said Venokur.
Cost: $400

"The Silver Cross Pram is the ultimate luxurious "pram" fit for a king," Venokur said. "It's a great stroller choice for a nice quiet stroll in the park. It's not practical for someone that has to lift, fold, and walk far distances with - but just looking at the silver cross pram - you think royalty - it's classy looking - the exact stroller that if you were painting a picture of a mom strolling a baby."
Cost: $1400

"Kim is a mom on the go, in and out of cars and planes," said Venokur. "The Orbit G2 infant system is the ideal stroller choice for someone that travels often as the car seat docks off the stroller into the car without any fuss. Add in the "paparazzi shield" that hides baby North from the cameras and its the perfect stroller for Kim."

My Travel Goals

We all have goals, specially at the beginning of the year right?  What are your traveling goals? do you have one?  I'll share one of mine.

If you know me, you also know that I have an obsession with Paris.  One of my main goal is to visit Paris, hopefully this year.  Yes, some how I think I have been adopted by the beautiful France.  My boyfriend is part French, and he has been to Paris, he tells me I would love it there!

Here is a little history on Paris and the beautiful Eiffel Tower!  This was based on my research and browsing, for I have not been there yet.

For starters Paris, is  the capital and largest city of France; and international center of culture and commerce.  Paris, is  the world's most popular city destination, it has plenty of must-see places, however;  make sure you spend at least a day strolling off the beaten path, as this is the only way to discover the real Paris: a lively cosmopolitan but undeniably French city. The center of Paris is divided in 20 arron-dissements with the majority of the world known attractions (Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Louvre, Pantheon, Notre-Dame,..) situated in the first 8  arrondissements..

Here is a little history on the beautiful romantic, most famous structure, Eiffel Tower, that you can see on top of all Paris.  The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft); when it was completed at the end of the nineteenth century it was twice as high as the Washington Monument, at the time the tallest structure in the world.

1889 World Exhibition

The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789.

The construction was only meant to last for the duration of the Exposition, but it still stands today, despite all protests from contemporary artists who feared the construction would be the advent of structures without 'individuality' and despite the many people who feared that this huge 'object' would not fit into the architecture of Paris.

Today, there is no such aversion anymore among the Parisians, and one could not imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower, in fact it has become the symbol of the City of Light.

Gustave Eiffel

The man behind the Eiffel Tower was Gustave Eiffel, known from his revolutionary bridge building techniques, as employed in the great viaduct at Garabit in 1884. These techniques would form the basis for the construction of the Eiffel Tower. He was also known for the construction of the Statue of Liberty's iron framework.

The structure took more than two years to complete. Each one of the about 12,000 iron pieces were designed separately to give them exactly the shape needed. All pieces were prefabricated and fit together using approx. seven million nails.

The Tallest

Inaugurated March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower would be the tallest structure in the world until the completion of the Chrysler Building in 1930.

This is just a little Eiffel Tower, research I did by browsing through the internet.  Hope you enjoyed it and hopefully visit the beautiful Paris one day!

Make up Tips

Today, my focus is on some excellent beauty tips and tricks, that we can all benefit from, specially on these cold winter days!

I have put together the top 6 beauty secrets and some FYI's as well.

I soooo would love to have a drawer full of make up like this... :)

1. Create a mixture of brown sugar, cocoa butter, and coffee, massage it over your skin for a cellulite busting scrub.

2. Place your nail polishes in the fridge to keep them from drying out, based on my research and browsing through the internet this is an industry secret!

3. To get rid of puffy eyes, try placing cold tea bags over the eye area for ten minutes (this also works with cucumber slices) - the caffeine will help brighten your peepers, This really works, friends, I do this every morning.

4. Using a lengthening mascara everyday will help you to achieve naturally longer lashes gradually over time. Definitely worth it in the long-run!

5. Want to keep your make up on for hours with out having to re-touch, well you can purchase makeup sealing sprays which can be sprayed gently over your face in order to 'set' your makeup in place for hours and hours on end.  Evian, Mac and many other products sell this.

6. Cream foundations and blushers can be great, but they tend to wear off gradually throughout the day. Lock them in by dusting a translucent powder over them to keep your makeup looking fresh all day long.

FYI's- Your skin naturally repairs itself at night, so this is a vital time to apply lots of moisturizer to your face!

Often when you get home late you're too tired to wash all of your makeup, however this can lead to morning breakouts and premature aging. The solution? Simply keep some makeup cleansing wipes in your night stand and you'll have fresher skin in seconds!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  As for me, well not to fabulous, I was home, sick all weekend long :(  My man, was my caretaker and he did a fabulous job.

What to do when you are home sick. Here a few of the things I did.

1. Aside from being in bed, my boyfriend, played smooth jazz music, this way I can relax and clear my mind from focusing on being sick.

2. Today, I felt a little better, therefore; I took some time to catch up on my reading.

3. Watched, movies all day long, here are a few, Side Affect, Safe Heaven, Premonition and yes watched tons of reality show.

4. Hydrated my body body all day long, by drinking water, and tea.

5. Chated with friends and family via facetime.  Nothing makes you feel better than a get well soon text message from one of your friends or family.

6. Most important I got tons of rest.

This was my lazy weekend.  What was yours?

New Years Resolution

It's the time a year again, where we all revisit the past year.  We think of what we did, where we were, what we accomplished, what hurt us etc... Yes, the time is has arrived when we want to join the gym, eat healthier etc.. As for me, I am doing things different this year. I will share 10 new ideas, that you may feel free to try as well.

Here are a few different New Years Resolutions.

1. Visit 3 different travel places, it doesn't mean spend money if you can't and travel, it can be a road trip. This will help you accomplish your travel goal. Make a visual record of the year by making sure you get a photo of your self  (selfie)taken in each place.

2. Soak up New Skills – Learning something new and interesting is always fun and a value addition too.

3. Expand your social circle, try to meet new people, by making a conscious effort to attend to social events, chat to strangers and introduced to friends of friends.  Making friends with people with different personalities and interests from can be particularly beneficial in helping you broaden your horizons, explore different sides of your personality and find new ways to get the most out of life.
  • 4.Take up a new hobbies, such as Yoga, swimming, or just find your inner child and  learn how to do a hand stand, this not only does the body good but it also helps our soul feel young.

  • 5.Secure a future with fewer trips to the doctor – exercise. Select a regime you can stick to. A group activity may add the element of fun to the routine.  Develop a good relationship with your body. Many traditional New Year’s resolutions centre around improving our bodies in some way, whether by taking up a diet or joining a gym. Next year, make it your resolution to start to love the body you’ve got instead. While this doesn’t mean you can’t make changes to your diet and fitness regime if your health requires it, it does mean starting to love who you are in the process.  Work on improving your body confidence by focusing on the things you do like rather than those you don’t, and learn to dress according to your body shape, showing off your favorite features.

6.The the unusual, It’s easy to get into a rut where we do the same things day in, day out, with our days passing us by as a routine-filled blur. Next year, spice up your routine by vowing to do one small thing differently each day or week. Wear something you wouldn’t normally wear, run a different route, or order a different coffee perhaps. Also, don’t fall into the trap of postponing your happiness by saving everything special 'for best'. Instead, brighten up a routine day every so often by donning your diamond earrings, swapping faded comfy panties for your favorite silk underwear, or eating those fancy chocolates washed down with a glass of champagne!

7. Organize your financial worries,To help get your year off to a good start, try getting your finances in order by making a resolution to sort out one area of financial worry. Perhaps you spend a fortune on gas  or maybe it is your food bills that are blowing your budget? Try to think of some alternatives to the main causes of financial stress,  grow your own vegetables if you own a home and are able to grow vegetables, make your own beauty products. Not only will coming up with alternative solutions help you save some money, you may find that you enjoy them and that they boost your health too.

8.
Be sincere about punctuality and commitments – This is a resolution, if followed, would help you succeed in life and be respected too.

9.
Unleash the Angel in You – Nothing feels better than seeing a smile on someone. Do your bit to stand by people who need support. Every little help matters.

10. Liven up Your Lifestyle Professional growth is okay, but your personal life requires attention too. Strike a balance.
