Weekend Re-Cap

Hello All,

Everyday I tried to tell my self that I am going to take time to blog and make it an everyday thing... but with the busy calendar that i have going on it has been pretty impossible... due to circumstance beyond my control i haven't been able too. and yes I"m also slacking with my workout as well this week... boy I tell you, I don't know what have come over me I am constantly tired lately.

Here is my weekend re-cap.
As I had mentioned I received my daughters bed room set ( can you believe they delivered the thing at 7 am). I am in the process of decorating it. It looks beautiful with it being so plain at the moment. But it is coming alone very nice. I am trying to buy her a ballerina lamp, so if you happen to see one let me know where i can purchase it. I want her room to be girlie but with some of my favorite childhood passion... like ballerina it was something I loved. I will post the pictures as soon as I'm done with her room.

I went to the Gala Event and it was ok not what i expected, but it was still fun! Since the Gala finished early we then decided to hit the CITY for some drinks, honestly I had a great time I also saw Knicks basketball players, we went to Sofrito. You should go there very nice and age appropriate.

Enjoy the pictures.

Your Travels! Travel CHIC

What A Girl Needs on the airplane!

I am aware of the economy situation that we are going through, therefore; blogging about travels may come a bit unreal for a lot of us... Well, I don't lose hope in the economy getting better this is why I 'm looking forward to my 2 vacations I have lined up! Anywhooo Leisure is not the only reason why people travel, most travel for business, I have friends who are constantly traveling on business and as do I at times. I was looking through my honeymoon pictures and I came across the pics I took at the airport and ....this is when my travel tips dawned on me, as I remember freezing my life away on the plane on our way to Mexico! I have decided to put together a few travel must haves. A side from the packer that I am. Even when I am going on a business trip for like 2 days I pack as if I will be out of town for 9 days!!!

* a roomy tote-
-to store all of your stuff
-make sure it has a ZIPPER-you do not want to lose anything

*a bottle of water-
-buy it once you're through security to keep you hydrated
-makeup artist Bobbi Brown swears by this tip when she travels

*an iPod or MP3 player/ Laptop
-to keep you entertained

*a cashmere throw
-to keep you warm and in style

*lip balm
-the dryness of the airplane can dry out your lips, too!

*this month's VOGUE/ELLE/GLAMOUR or INSTYLE
-in my opinion, the best major fashion magazines, has enough substance to sustain you for a while

*if you are not into magazines (I mean who isn't)
-you can indulge in a great book. I have a great Fashion Book called "How to walk in heels" I love it's my favorite book.

*big sunglasses
- handy if you would like to avoid chatting to the person next to you,
-I never leave home without my sunglasses, neither should you!

*dry perfume-make sure it is a scent you like
-this is great because you can take it through security, and it will keep you freshened up

*a cloth headband or a head-tie
-in case you want to get your hair out of your face

*your make-up bag

-a girl always needs to retouch the face, make sure your make-up iswithin travel requirments!

* camera

-memories are must, if you are similar to me you always carry your camera with you! I do my husband thinks I am crazy for always taking pictures of everyone and everything.

These are my tips, you can always apply some of these pointers for your next travels.

Happy Travels and remember always TRAVEL CHIC!

Happy Friday!

Happy Day!

I can't express enough my happiness of today being Friday! I am so exhausted and tired from the busy week I had... My busy schedule only continues!

What are your plans for the weekend?

As for my weekend goes, as usual I can't fit one more thing on my calendar or even organizer.

My husband, is taking me to the mall today.. I need to buy an outfit for a Latin Gala Event, that I will be attending tomorrow night at Fordham Univ. I will def. take pictures and write about the Gala Event.

Also, finally I am in the process of receiving my home furniture... as I had mention on previous blogs ...I am buying all new furniture for my home sweet home. Tomorrow I receive my daughters bedroom set, which i am excited to decorate. The colors I choose (she agreed upon as well) were pink and brown. Her bed room set is white. Below is a picture of how the set is. I love it her set reminds me of sored of country but stylish room... I am truly excited to decorate it. Although lately I have been into whites and light white furniture for home decor, I won't be buying too much white furniture but I still love it.

As per the weather Chanel! we are suppose to have a beautiful day on Sunday, I am super excited and well over do for some Spring weather... I will be taking advantage of that as well, maybe Ill take the kids to the museum of Art in NYC ( I have been wanting to go there with my kids for a while now) or to the park for a walk.

Of course through out the course of the weekend I have to squeeze in time for my workout!!! not fun but I must do.

Enjoy your weekend. Don't forget to change your clocks!

Tips for loving someone with out losing your self.

********************************************************

1. DON'T BELIEVE THE "YOU COMPLETE ME" MYTH"

My other half," or "my BETTER half"... You hear people refer to their significant others that way all the time.

It may seem harmless but this is troublesome thinking.

That's because if you truly believe that you're just half of a person until you meet the soul mate that will make you whole, you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment, like i mentioned the day of my book club meeting with the girls I don not believe in soul mates.

The only way to become a whole person is to complete yourself.

If you find yourself stuck in this thinking then it's time to take the focus off your significant other (or off of your quest to find the one who will "rescue" you from feeling incomplete) and start taking some proactive steps toward creating the fulfilling life you deserve for YOURSELF.

The interesting thing about this is that by placing the focus on completing YOURSELF, your relationship will most likely improve on its own.

Why?

Because relationships have a much better chance of surviving- and thriving - when two whole people come together out of a desire to share their full, happy lives with one another. They are people who feel good about themselves yet desire a partner to walk thorough this world with and experience life together.

These are the relationships that succeed.

You can have that kind of relationship if you're willing to focus on yourself. In "Dating Without Drama" I'll show you how.

2. DON'T BE A "YES" WOMAN

If you think that agreeing with everything your man says, replying "whatever you think honey," or "I dunno...what do YOU want to do?" makes you easygoing and appealing...

THINK AGAIN.

If you think that dropping all of your own interests and plans to make yourself totally available to him whenever he wants to see you is sexy...

WRONG-O.

If your boyfriend didn't want to date a REAL woman with her own thoughts, opinions and desires, he could have bought a blow-up woman at a novelty store. So speak your mind! Have an opinion! Be yourself!

He fell for YOU for a reason. Don't let him forget who that person is.

3. RECOGNIZE ALL OF THE GREAT QUALITIES THAT YOU BRING TO THE RELATIONSHIP

It's easy to make yourself feel small in a relationship when you put your boyfriend on a pedestal and think, "he's so wonderful...what could he possibly see in a woman like me?

"He sees a lot in you, or he wouldn't be with you!

Take some time to recognize the fabulous qualities that you bring to your relationship (don't worry - nobody can hear your thoughts so you won't sound conceited). They might go something like this:

* "I am a great listener and I have a warm, supportive nature."
* "My smile lights up the room."
* "My shoulder massages melt my boyfriend's bad day away!"

Now next time you feel like your man is doing you a FAVOR by being with you, remember this reality check. He is fortunate to be with YOU too!

4. HAVE YOUR OWN LIFE

In the moment, it may make you feel good to spend every minute with your boyfriend (even tagging along to poker night with the guys, uninvited), but trust me, this is just a quick fix that will only undermine your chances for real security.

If you really want a solid relationship, you have to make yourself a priority and have your own life.

Take care of your health by eating well and exercising. Find your spiritual path. See a therapist to work through unresolved issues, if necessary. Do the things you love - reading, dancing, writing, watching movies, traveling around the world, join a book club or host a book club ... Connect with friends. Learn all you can. Always be open to growth, be it intellectual, spiritual or emotional. And listen to your heart's desire, your calling ... and honor it.

Always make it a priority to DATE YOURSELF FIRST. Take yourself to museums, check out that hot new restaurant that just got written up in the Times, tackle that rock-climbing wall at the gym that you've been equally terrified and fascinated by. There's no room for desperation when you've got a perfectly good date for every occasion ...you. Take a sexy rose pedal bath surrounded by candles, ladies I have tried this again when I was single, I felt sexy, beautiful, and confident. I would go to bed as if I was going to have the sexiest night with someone... and no I was not! Why do we have to do all this for someone and not for ourselves! Try it this works, I did this before my reconciliation with Carlos. I thank god I had time to dedicate it to my self.

As you focus on your own happiness you will be amazed at the transformation that starts to occur within you. Trust me when I was single, I always focused on me and applied the love my self and at the end of the day I was the happiest person alone and single ( alone with out a partner because I have my kids).

You will feel comfortable in your own skin, and you won't approach your relationship from a place of need, but rather one of strength.Your boyfriend will be drawn to your confidence and will do anything just to be able to spend time with you.

And although you may start out with the perfect relationship as your ultimate goal, in the end that will be just a happy by-product of a healthier, more content you.

"5. DON'T MAKE PLANS OUT OF CONTINGENCY, JEALOUSY, FEAR OR SPITE

Just a clarification on Tip #4 - the security that comes from having your own life only works when your motives are true.

If you're making plans with your friends just as a contingency (knowing full well that you'll bail on them last-minute if your man wants to see you), or out of jealousy, fear, or spite (he's on a business trip with that hot woman from his office and you think..."I'll show HIM! I'll go out with my ex-boyfriend tonight and see how HE feels") he will see through it and your plans will backfire. Guaranteed.

6. DON'T OBSESS ABOUT PERFECTION

Nobody's perfect, so don't expect your relationship to be! Having realistic expectations means that you won't be so thrown every time you have a not-so-great date or get into an argument.

That's the other thing - all couples fight. Conflict can't be avoided. In fact, disagreements, when worked through properly, can be healthy and help your relationship grow.

Remember, if your guy is worth it he will stick with you through the tough times. So stop putting so much pressure on yourself and enjoy!

* * * * * * * * * * * *
To sum up...By focusing on your own well-being and self-improvement, you are bound to become healthier, happier and more confident. This may very well cause your boyfriend to sit up and take notice of your new found independence and improved self-image, which could really help strengthen your bond. But the REAL reason why a positive self-image is the secret to feeling secure in your relationship is this:When you feel COMPLETE in yourself, the feelings of NEEDINESS about your relationship disappear. That's because you know deep down that if things don't ultimately work out between you and your boyfriend, you will still feel good about YOURSELF and have all the tools you need to enjoy your own life with or without a man. I am married and still trying to figure life out but for now this is what I have learned through time and for the most part applied.

But you don't have to take MY word for it!

Honey I'm Home

For the past 2 days, I was away on business. I didn't go very far just 3 hours away! Atlantic City. I had a SBA Convention over at the Convention Center in Atlantic City, which conveniently is right by Caesar's and Trump Plaza. I stayed at the Sheraton, across the streets from all the shopping stores lol oh lord I was in heaven... first time staying at the Sheraton the room was nice and comfy... YES ... after dinner at Morton's I went to Caesar's and did some gambling woo whoo but then reality set in and realized I lost.... any who, if you know me you also know that I walk around with a camera in my bag ( it's one of the things you will find in my bag), I took some pictures of the Lobby at the Sheraton, I thought it was pretty interesting to see a few pictures and Tiara's of past Miss Universe Winners. Below are a few pictures of some Pageant winners and of the room where I called home lol and of course last but no least pictures of me! enjoy the Miss Universe Pics.

Amazing Love it. I didn't know the winners had to turn in their whole assemble, with accessories and crown and all. I thought they at least get to keep something!

Celebs In Sight

Celebs and their babies

Courtesy of poponthepop, I found these pictures of Giselle on her wedding day. Here you see Tom Brady with the wedding band on... so I guess the rumors were true.

My Purchase

I am excited to say that I have purchased the Nude Christian Louboutin Shoes.... I am so happy and can't wait for the summer to wear them or at least the spring.. maybe I'll wear them for my birthday.
I also purchased this Roberto Cavalli Bag that Jessica Simpson has in this picture, I am very excited.... Once in a while a girl deserves to feel pampered or even be able to splurge on something.... yes, I know sometimes my splurges go out of control But I am excited and I love them. So now I have my Orgasmic Shoes the I wanted. It cost a pretty Pennie but I think I have worked hard in the past few months with no play, at times we need something to motivate us to continue on the hard work. What did I do to be able to get them well things don't come easy to me, in order to get them I had to save some money and budget my self out ... I am not rich so everything is a lot of hard work and savings.
This feels just as good or slightly good as when i purchased my kids bedroom sets I was excited and happy.

Secrets Of Relationships

I am still trying to figure out relationships, for I am married, however I acknowledge that I don't have the perfect marriage... does anyone??? you will always have some type of problems or disagreements ..which makes it okay. Read below a few thing I have put together, for I am studying relationships... to improve mine!

My husband keeps telling me that i think it's all about me me and me. lol why wouldn't it? lol well based on my conversation with friends and even family members I have done a bit of my own studying and research and came up with the following on dating and relationship in general... this is targeting all not just me or you but many of us female out there.

Sure ... some men are jerks. And fine, some women are just plain crazy.

Now that I've acknowledged the two biggest stereotypes that people think are to blame for screwed up relationships, let me tell you what I REALLY believe is the root cause of dating drama:

Feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem.

Now I'm not running around hugging trees and braiding daisies into my hair, but I honestly believe that we would all struggle a lot less with dating and relationships if we lived in a perfect world where each and every one of us were told from a young age that we were beautiful, special, and had unique gifts to give to the world - and to the person with whom we would eventually share our life.

If each of us grew into self-assured women brimming with confidence, we would naturally possess the tools we need live out the life of our dreams and create a healthy, happy, drama-free relationship with a man.

UNFORTUNATELY, we're not living in a perfect world.

Most of us spend a lot of time wondering whether we're pretty enough, smart enough, interesting enough, sexy enough, funny enough, thin enough ... (I could go on), and these worries can cause us to feel inadequate in a relationship.

Since these worries feel so out of our control, and at the same time we want to be loved, we often cope by plunging ourselves head-first into a relationship believing that if we just focus all of our energy on making our man happy, everything will work out fine.

We start making decisions based solely on what we think HE wants or what HE likes. We don't want to inconvenience him with our needs or give any strong opinions that might conflict with his own.

Looking for reassurance, we may find ourselves clinging to our man, hoping that he will make us feel secure in the relationship - and in ourselves.

We voluntarily stop doing some of the things we care about. We cancel plans with our girlfriends if we think that there's a chance our boyfriend will want to spend time with us. We mislead ourselves to think that if we just hang around him enough, we can make the relationship progress forward out of sheer will.(Not to mention the fact that if we always keep an eye on him, there's no way he could possibly ever cheat!)

This is a big, fat mistake.

Now pay close attention, because this is important:

The security we so desperately seek in a relationship can only be found one way - by building confidence within ourselves.

Luckily, if you are ready to learn how to Date Without Drama, you can replace those feelings of clinginess, neediness and insecurity with self-reliance, confidence, and positivity.

And it doesn't matter if you're just starting out dating or already IN a long-term relationship, it *IS* possible to start feeling secure in your relationship - and your SELF - TODAY.

My Weekend!

A little insight on my weekend. For the most part my weekend was good and quite busy. Circumstances beyond my control forced me to cancel something that I had planned for months... Although I was not the happiest person to have to do this but I had too, We ended up going to some friends house "house party" if you call it. I had a great time and I thank the Rosado family for inviting us to their beautiful home. They had a Mariachi band playing..what a beautiful melody they had and my hats off to them with such beautiful songs they sang. Here are a few pictures of my Saturday. Enjoy. The pictures didn't come out clear, these were taken with my phone.. I try never to miss a moment of the good memories! I am my own photographer. lol I have pictures galore. One of the things I always carry in my bag is my camera but last night my batteries died, so there was my phone to the rescue! Check out my pic with the Mona Lisa behind me sooo cheesy!
