Learning How To Pack Light & Look Fabulous

I'll admit it. I'm what you would call a "girly-girl". I like to dress up, I'm most comfortable in heels, and, ironically, I don't feel quite myself when I'm not wearing at least a little makeup (and yes, I am fully aware of how ridiculous that is). I need to be prepared for any situation and, frankly, we just have way more options than you men. But, if you're lugging your own suitcase, those few extra pairs of shoes get old really quickly. Here's my top five tips for packing a bag full of style that YOU can actually carry. Nothing is more relaxing than a summer vacation, but nothing is more stressful than wondering what to pack. Below are a few tips that can help you.

1. Load up on accessories.Accessories can instantly dress up any outfit and they're light. So, go ahead and go overboard packing earrings, jewelry, and things for your hair. You won't regret having plenty of choices.

2. Limit your shoes.
This is very hard for me to say but shoes are the easiest thing to pack incorrectly. It's tempting to bring those cute strappy heels, but be realistic. If you're walking a lot, you're not going to be wearing those shoes. I can't count how many times I've packed a bunch of shoes, only to wear one or two pairs the entire trip. If you want something fancy, choose your most versatile black heels. And if you still feel like you need more options find a cute flat or (flip flop for those that like them to walk around, this is a fashion no no) that will at least take up less room, I am not a flip flop girl but I do know that many Americans are.

3.Think Small with Makeup.
Another case where it's easy to overdo is with your makeup. Pack your gear for your daily routine, add an extra eyeshadow and call it a day. If you can downsize your makeup, do it.

4. Bags and Purses.

Just like shoes, it's easy to pack too many purses ( I have this syndrome). Our rule of thumb is to stick with two basics: a large purse that can double as a carry on bag and a small black bag for nights out on the town. Think about your plans and pack what you think will work best. And again, if you can't resist an extra bag....make sure it's small!

Hope you can take few of these tips and apply them to your next vacation. I am trying to learn and following some guidelines. I am a packer!

Make Up Must Buy

Today's blog is about my current foundation. I normally use my favorite Channel foundation, until I was walking up and down CVS (and I can not do that, I go spending crazy) and came across this foundation, in which I have been using for the past 2 months. This product is so fabulous that it was a must blog beauty item. This is the Revlon Custom Creations!

The best invention this foundation has is that you can literally blend your own color that suits you to perfection. As many of you ladies already know or maybe apply the same thing as well, when I apply foundation, I normally use 2, the concealer because this lighter and the foundation... the concealer I apply underneath my eyes and the foundation which is a darker shade over the rest of the face or where needed. The great thing about this product is that this comes with a variation of colors, lightest to darkest depending on your skin tone.

Beauty Tip:

Always remember, your winter foundation should always be different from your summer foundation... in the summer we tend to get darker in skin due to sun exposure, the fabulous thing Revlon Custom offers is, all different shades in just one bottle...this is fabulous and even better you pay one price for various shades. The price is right underneath $15.00.

I always blogged, that I will not talk about a product if I have not tried it, and this one is one I highly recommend and will continue to use.

Baby Item

Bugaboo Missoni celeb spotting

This strollers doesn't come out officially until July, but there has already been a Bugaboo Missoni spotting in the wild celebrity world. Rachel Zoe was seen spotted with her new baby Skyler, sporting the new Bugaboo Missoni Cameleon. Also her black Gucci diaper bag hanging in the background. She is so fabulous.

Carey Hart, husband of singer Pink, was spotted out and about in Malibu with their new baby daughter yesterday. The baby rides in an Ergo carrier. I am trully loving this Ergo Carrier.

Summer Activities

School is over, now what?

Parent's, I have survived the 6 grade scare. Middle school was a one of our biggest challenge, facing reality that your child is no longer a baby was going through a milestone in our household. Being in between grammar and high school age was a huge step for both the kids and the parent but we all survived.

As the school year quickly comes to an end, one big issue I have is, how will I keep my kids occupied for the summer. After some sleepless nights, and many thoughts processing, I came up with some creative ideas.

Summer camp may be one of the best options. Although my son was not thrilled about attending, this was no option. Day camps offer many benefits, including plenty of physical activity to keep kids healthy and tackle obesity. Organized games and outdoor activities work to build up cardio health and boost muscle strength and endurance. Another advantage of summer camp, of course, is the social interaction, which promotes healthy connections between peers. If camp is not a viable option, there's plenty to do close to home. Below are a few ideas that works for me and hopefully this will for you.

  • Outdoors activities, such as playing outside with the neighbor or their sibling.
  • Playgrounds are another plus, this promotes strenght, stability and coordination and balance in the body.
  • Play on a small trampoline to build lower-extremity strength while increasing power. Trampolines require adult supervision.
  • Along with the parent, always practice to learn a game like tennis, soccer, volleyball, baseball or basketball. These sports helps gross motor coordination and improve the child's ability to learn a task, while strengthening the the bond between parent and child.
  • If you don't have a pool, then take advantage of a local swimming pool. Kids can spend hours playing in water, and water provides good resistance to develop both upper and lower extremities. Pool time provides a great opportunity for making new friends as well!

Finally, consider enrolling your children in summer sports. Sports encourage healthy competition and teamwork. As kids build skills and make social connections, they also build self-esteem. For their growing bodies, sports help develop strong, healthy bones and muscles. Be sure to encourage adequate stretching regularly to decrease risk of sprains and strains.
With some planning and creativity, you and your family are sure to enjoy an active, fun summer!
Happy Summer,
