Movie Night

This past weekend we celebrated Christmas.  In honor of Christmas our movie was  Christmas with the Kranks.

With their daughter away, the Kranks decide to skip Christmas altogether until she decides to come home, causing an uproar when they have to celebrate the holiday at the last minute.

This was a fun family movie, suitable for all ages.

Happy Anniversary To My Blog

I started this blog exactly seven year ago. The reason why I decided to start a blog was simply for the purpose of my love for writing and fashion, I also love sharing beauty tips, baby gear and posting pictures of celebrities, their styles, and also  how to organize etc... I do not bash any celebs or write negative things on here... at times I get personal and post pictures of my friends and family along with pics of me, as you can see through out the years of all the different topics.

In the past year or so, I haven't blogged much, not because it is no longer a passion, because it still is, but simply because I switched jobs, had a baby, and all which took up a lot of my time.  I am now getting back in the swing of things and will be sharing lots of fun stuff with you guys. Hope you enjoy reading just as much as I enjoy posting.

What this blog means to me is basically a great hobby, in which I enjoy so much. In the new coming year I might change things around not sure as of yet, but maybe more fun more fashion, more pics more reading... let see.

Cheers to my seven years!!! yay

Fashion Inspiration

Kate Moss

Who's your go to fashion inspiration?

I have a hand full, that I go to for some fashion inspiration.  Kate Moss, is absolutely one of them.

Kate Moss (born 16 January 1974]) is an English model.  Born in Greater London.  she was discovered in 1988 at age 14 by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management, at JFK Airport in New York City.
Moss rose to fame in the early 1990s as part of the heroin chic fashion trend. She is known for her waifish  figure, and role in size zero fashion. She had campaigns for designers including GucciDolce & GabbanaCalvin KleinChanel and Rimmel. She received an award at the 2013 British Fashion Awards to acknowledge her contribution to fashion over 25 years.
Moss has had her own clothing range and has been involved in musical projects. She has won accolades for modelling. In 2007, TIME named her one of the world's 100 most influential people.[4] She has inspired cultural depictions including a £1.5m ($2.8m) 18 carat gold statue of her, sculpted in 2008 for a British Museum exhibition.[5]
She began dating Jefferson Hack in the early 2000s and they have a daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack. She later dated musician Pete Doherty. She is married to Jamie Hince, guitarist for the Kills. She received media scrutiny for her party lifestyle and drug use. Drug allegations beginning in late 2005 led to her being dropped from fashion campaigns. She was cleared of charges and resumed modelling. In 2012, she came second on the Forbes top-earning models list, with estimated earnings of $9.2 million in one year.

Feeling Gorgeous

Making the most of your assets

Get Gorgeous

They say that beauty comes from within, but how do you make your inner beauty shine through? Reveal a more beautiful you from the inside out with these tips. Beauty is a word with endless meaning. Despite this, it does tend to describe a positive energy coming from within, not a state achieved by make-up and varnish. If you want others to feel that you are beautiful, you need to feel the same about yourself, both inside and out.

Watch a funny movie. Laughter has been shown to decrease stress and boost mood and optimism. When you feel good, you look good—after all, happy people radiate an appealing glow.

Take a picture of yourself right after a workout. Notice how exertion brightens your eyes and cheeks and causes you to hold your head high. Look at the picture often as inspiration to exercise, which naturally gives your body and spirit a boost.

Stand up straight. Not only will you strengthen your back muscles, you’ll exude confidence and beauty.

Focus on What You Do Have, Not on What You Don't .The sum is not always greater than the whole of its parts. Sounds counter intuitive  but when it comes to feeling beautiful, it's important to keep this in mind. Women who focus on features they like (rather than those they don't) and use them to serve their self-image are more likely to say they feel attractive. It is well known in the fashion industry that some models are branded for their great legs or long necks. They use these assets to feel beautiful. Sometimes only their hands or feet are considered marketable material. Take a look at yourself and choose one feature you like and embellish it. Delicate wrists? Wear an eye-catching watch. Thick hair? An elegant headband or jeweled clip can draw attention where you want it. Good posture? Standing tall can make everything else about you look and feel more attractive.

Gossip Segment

TV Show Gossip.

Shas of Sunset

Are we all surprised by Mike Shouhed's divorce?  I'm not. I always thought Jessica, was pretty and seemed  very nice.  If you watched the show, last season, you will get to see a sneaky side of Mike.  I believed him at first when he claimed, he and Gigi, never had anything.  I for one thought Gigi was a little two face liar, however; as the show progressed I realized she was telling the truth. Something about Mike's reactions and answers were not to trusting. Here is what I read on them.

 This article is from People.com

"We knew were going to get married from the first month that we were dating," Shouhed tells PEOPLE. "She was the first person that I brought home and we were naming our children within the first several months of being together."

The couple wed in March in a lavish ceremony, but Parido, 26, filed for divorce from Shouhed, 37, just eight months later on Nov. 18 after finding an old message on his ICloud that showed he had been unfaithful in the past.

"It was years ago before we were even engaged. It was a moment of weakness, and I fully regret that it happened," he says.

While Parido left the next day, she told Shouhed she would give him a second chance if he went to therapy to "deal with his demons."

"I was working on myself, and I am a completely different person today then I was three months ago," he says.

But still, Parido moved forward with the proceedings and according to Shouhed she already has a new boyfriend.

"I didn't even know the divorce was happening until I saw it posted online," he says. "That was how I found out she was divorcing me. I was blindsided."

For now, Shouhed says he is leaning on family and friends for support as they help him cope with the fact that the marriage is over.

"I'm looking for closure and each day is getting a little easier for me to heal," he says.

"Through therapy, yoga and meditation, self awareness and through realization I have come to a point now in my life where I realize what it takes to be a good partner and everyday I strive to become better. I am on that journey where one day I will be 100 percent again and I am looking forward to that."

Getting Things Done

Getting Things Done.

If you are like most of us mothers, there never seem to be enough hours in the day.  At the end of the day we find our self exhausted, with dishes in the sink, laundry yet to be done etc.. Aren't you tired of feeling like this all the time!?

In my Browsing I put together, 5 Tips that can help us achieve a better day.

1. Get Plenty of Sleep…(no really!)
Without enough sleep, none of us is at our best.  Let's face it,  not  enough resting / sleep can hinder our productivity, at work, home etc.. Let's start by putting our kids to bed early, having them up with out a sleep time, this limits your relaxation (or chore) time, please make a point to get that much needed sleep in.  If you are like me and  find yourself having a difficult time winding down in the evening, choose a book rather than the TV and limit your caffeine in the afternoon.

2.Create Routines

Make a habit . Schedule actions, while it may not be down to the minute, know that each minute will hold. For example,  writing emails at a certain time, going to the gym, if you are a working mother, reading time with your little ones, sports and activities with your other kids, play dates, and try to do them daily. Soon that routine will happen on autopilot.
2. Take Care of Yourself
Similar to getting enough sleep, you must take good care of yourself, through diet and exercise. If you’re weak or sick from not eating the right foods or lack of working your muscles, you won’t have enough energy to make it through work (at home or in a work place), extracurricular activities, dinner and homework.
3. Make Lists and Keep Calendars Updated
Keep appointments and other commitments written on a calendar for easy reference as you’re planning your week. Then, each day, make two lists: the must do and the need to do. The must dos would be just that: the appointments, laundry (when there are no more clean clothes, etc). The need-to-dos would be all of the chores and errands that you would like to accomplish, but realize it’s okay to let go of for that day.
Make your goal to get through the “must-do” list and a few items on the “need-to-do” list …and forgive yourself if you never make it to the “need-to-dos.” To get you on your way.
4. Schedule your Day (and Stick to it)
In planning your day, make a schedule. While it may not be down to the minute, know what each chunk of time will hold. For example, your morning may be 6-7am breakfast and  9-5 work (or if you are a stay at home mom daily busy routins) 1:30-2:30 Lunch, again if you are a stay at home mom play dates. Set aside general timeframes for each of your day’s must dos.
5. Get Everyone on Board with Routines
Depending on your family’s schedule, setting routines will help everyone to be on the same page for each day. If on Saturday morning, for example, you usually do the grocery shopping, that will help the kids to plan to help you (or help your spouse to be available to be with the kids).  Keeping routines will help everyone in your family to work as a team.

Fall / Winter Make Up

What are your winter make-up favorites.

I live in the east coast- NY  area.  As you know we have our season change.  I don't know about you but as for me, I tend to change up my make up a bit. During the summer, I love using a softer foundation on my skin.  I like to be out and about, tanning, pool, beach etc which means my skin gets a little roughed up with all the craziness that goes on our skin( not too mention sweat). Well. as you know we are in the Fall season, which means another change of foundation must be applied. During the upcoming season Fall/Winter, I love using  Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation

I love this foundation because it's a little heavy and it is exactly what I need during the winter time.  This foundation is  A breakthrough gel foundation that’s antiaging, long-wearing, and awakens your skin to its ideal radiance and clarity.

I am also a huge fan of hydrating eye cream and for me This one by Bobbie Brown works for me during the cold weather.

Here is the what it does: This luxurious, concentrated cream is absorbed quickly, allowing it to deliver naturally occurring humectants that virtually melt into the skin. Before makeup application, a perfect level of emollients imparts a lightweight texture, allowing concealer to glide on evenly. Use in the evening to boost skin's ability to recharge and rehydrate during the nightly repair process. It plumps fine lines and improves skin's overall tone and texture. Skin looks and feels stronger and healthier. It leaves the eye area soft, smooth, and refreshed for up to 24 hours.

As for concealer I have been using the Perfect Finish from Dolce & Gabbana

I like it and just recently started using this particular one, so I will have to give you details in a few months, but so far so good.

Here is what it does:
Awaken the glow, renew the radiance, and restore the glamour with the Perfect Finish Concealer, the ultimate luxurious makeup essential by Dolce & Gabbana. The creamy weightless formula moisturizes, soothes, and blends naturally, concealing flaws and every kind of imperfection. Illuminating the skin with light-reflecting radiance pigments, this concealer achieves a natural, impeccable glow.

These are my fall / winter make - up  product.

Positive Life

Making changes and trying to always do my best to be positive and live a healthier, happier life.

I came across some great tips in the internet and some are just my life experience. Let's put them to good use and live a happier life, we deserve it.

See the positive side, the potential, and make an effort.” ~Dalai Lama
Negative thoughts drain you of energy and keep you from being in the present moment. The more you give in to your negative thoughts, the stronger they become. I like the imagery of a small ball rolling along the ground, and as it rolls, it becomes bigger and faster.
That’s what one small negative thought can turn into: a huge, speeding ball of ugliness. On the contrary, a small positive thought can have the same effect blossoming into a beautiful outcome.
When we start to have negative thoughts, it’s hard to stop them. And it’s much easier said than done to shift your focus to positive thoughts. But it’s the only way, especially if you want to avoid going down a path that is painful and unnecessary.
Here are ten things I did to help overcome my negative thoughts that you can also try:
1. Meditate or do yoga.
It took my focus away from my thoughts and brought my attention to my breath. Yoga is also very relaxing which helped ease my mind. Yoga helped me stay present to my experience so instead of jumping to what could happen, it brought me back to the now—the only moment, the most important moment.
2. Smile.
I didn’t do much of this during the week, specially because I have to go to work and leave my baby, so I literally had to bring myself in front of a mirror and force myself to smile. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. I also felt lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.
3. Surround yourself with positive people.
I called a friend who I knew could give me constructive, yet loving feedback. When you’re stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking.
4. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive.
For example, instead of thinking, “We are going to have a hard time adjusting to our living situation,” think, “We will face some challenges in our living situation, but we will come up with solutions that we will both be happy with.”
5. Don’t play the victim. You create your life—take responsibility.
The way I was thinking and acting, you would think I was stuck. Even if our living situation becomes unbearable, there is always a way out. I will always have the choice to make change happen, if need be.
6. Help someone.
Take the focus away from you and do something nice for another person.
7. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.
It’s easy to dwell on your mistakes. The only thing you can do now is learn from my mistakes and move forward.
8. Meditate.
I do not understand the bible too much, but when I sit and read a verse and meditate on the word and my life I find that this always makes me feel better .  It's a way to talk about my problems, concerns with god and this believe it or not gives me a sense of peace and some how provides an amazing stress relief.
9. List five things that you are grateful for right now.
Being grateful helps appreciate what you already have. Here’s my list: My health, my children, my boyfriend, and for my dad being cured from cancer, my family.
10. It's your choice to choose.
Choosing joy intentionally each day, even when the nitty gritty threatens to over take me, once I realize that things that felt big probably aren't, I learned that the small moments are the ones I'll remember for a lifetime!

Happy positive thinking!
