Communicating with your Hairdresser (Hair & Beauty)

It's a little known fact that the best girls have a reputable hair stylist in their address book. By reputable hair stylist, I'm not talking about shelling out hundreds for a celebrity stylist (I'm talking about Michelle) to cut your hair. I'm talking about your go-to hairstylist. After all, of all you do and how hard you work, every lady deserves to be pampered so you deserve the very best treatment! A good hairstylist knows this and would truly listen to understand and work to meet your every need. I am so happy with my hairstylist that I thought I would continue on writing about how important it is have a relationship with your hairstylist.

However, as each of us are a truly original being, it is a challenge to recommend a hairdresser that will assess you on this aspect alone. Instead, I'm devoting this entry to a few ground rules to help you communicate with your hairdresser effectively and get the cut or style you want.

Based on upon my research I also have decided to include tips and tricks for achieving and maintaining salon-worthy, gorgeous hair Plus, I have the answer to that biting "wash, rinse, and repeat?" question.

1. Always get a full consultation first. Be honest and realistic. If you spend less than five minutes on your hair, you're not going to be able to devote thirty minutes to your new hair. It's just not in your routine!

2. Like everyone else on the planet, hairdressers aren't mind readers either. If you have trouble describing what you want, try bringing in a visual aid. This will give the stylist a better idea of what you want, and how it will work for you.- Arrive early to your appointment. Most salons will have the most recent magazines and books in the waiting area that you can pour through if you're stuck on ideas.

3. You wouldn't start using the jargon, if you had no clue...would you? The same goes for hairdresser jargon. Layers and thinning are among the two popular options that many girls choose to get.Layered hair is a hair style that gives the illusion of length and volume. It gives the illusion for long hair that it looks even longer, and it gives the illusion of volume to short hair. Hair is arranged into layers, with the top layers (those that grow nearer the crown) cut shorter than the layers beneath. This allows the tips of the top layers to blend apparently seamlessly with layers beneath. Hair Thinning is a thick haired girl's best friend. It's what it is, it just makes your hair thinner. If you still don't understand hairdresser jargon, proceed with caution. If you use a term, it may be interpreted in a different way by your stylist. Hence, you will receive a much different version of the style you want.

4. After you become accustomed to a stylist, he or she will gain a general feel of your hair habits so they'll be able to help you out better! Does she tuck her hair behind her ears? Does she always wear her hair up or down or does she straighten it? If the suggested style is not a shape that cannot be tucked, for instance, then you might find that it's not for you after all.

5. How do you respond to hairdressers who get you to buy their products? Would it really make your hair look better? Maybe. Sometimes, I'll ask my stylist for product recommendations for my hair from time to time. At times, it helped me. But, if you know of a product that's working for you or has worked for you in the past (and your hair looks nice already), don't abandon the tried, trusty, and true. The hairdresser is only trying to promote the products they sell.

When talking to a hairdresser about new color, think about...

1. Your skin tone and how the color will look against it.

2. Highlights, lowlights, full dye job. There are many ways to add color to your hair.

3. Words do not describe color accurately enough. This especially holds true if you're going red or a blond. Keep in mind that all colors will vary from your friend's hair to your own (Example, a piece of color may look darker or brighter when mixed in with your natural color.). A lot of color may look brighter than you expect. Trust your hairdresser's judgment on this.

4. You'll be happy to admire your new color, however the main thing to remember is to how maintain that gorgeous wave of color. Listen to your hairdresser and if they tell you the processes needed, to get the color you want will leave it out of condition, proceed with extreme caution or don't do it. Follow up with a color preserving shampoo and conditioner that works for you and schedule touch-ups as needed.

I am so happy and content that I have found one of the best hairdressers that best suits my hair needs. I thank her for making me the most beautiful on my wedding day!

Your Home Space.

A home is a personal sanctuary. It offers the very best of your life, so you'll want to maintain it well, right? Do you need a better mean of motivation? Follow these easy tips and before you know it, mi casa es su casa!

1. Avoid going from one floor of your home to another without returning something where it belongs. Keep a basket next to the stairs. Make putting things away a routine.

2. Do you want to get the entire family involved? Start a daily maintenance checklist, which doesn't have to sound as rigorous as it seems. Just assign one small, quick job to each family member. Good starter tasks for children include setting the table, vacuuming, feeding the dog/cat/reptiles, raking leaves, or sweeping. Post a reminder list on paper or buy a magnetic dry erase board for your fridge (sold at K-mart, Target, or Bed Bath and Beyond) with daily check-off boxes in the kitchen. If someone is seriously having trouble sticking to their job, you're their boss. Do not scold or pressure them because initially, nobody likes to be scold or pressured and this will only make your situation worse. Instead, keep encouraging them. And after a particular job well, reward them with a compliment or a treat.

3. Use super-absorbent microfiber cloths to trap dust and dirt. Feather dusters and rags often just blow dust and dirt around.

4. When I was starting an exercise regimen for myself, I designed a list of some of the favorite things that I like to do every day and mapped it out during the week (monday and tuesdays...strength, running. wednesday..pilates, running...etc). This helped condition my mind to complete an effective regimen for myself. If you're having trouble sticking to a cleaning schedule, you can do something similar to make sure everything gets done.Start by giving each task an assigned day of the week, and stick to the schedule. This way, different areas are consistently "spic and span", and need little more than a once-over when their scheduled day comes up.

5. Add sugar to sweeten the deal. Put on some upbeat tracks while you work! (I'm personally loving Broadway at the moment.)

6. If you don't have much time to clean, vacuuming is a brief way to fix the place up.

7. Plan on cleaning the bathroom on a day you can reward your efforts with a long, hot, sweetly scented bubble bath or shower.

8. Get into cooking! Cook your favorite meal now and then. But, just remember the consequences. There will be plenty of dirty dishes to go around. I'm really sure this is up your alley now, but maybe cleaning up after such a delicious and wonderfully planned out meal will be just the incentive you need.

9. It's a known fact that some people need a reason if they want to get anything done. And "mopping" is one of those chores that are almost always left on the back burner. Find out what your least favorite chore is (mopping or the toilet, anyone?) and reward yourself after you're through with your efforts. Plan a dinner date with friends, hot chocolate in your spic and span kitchen, or buy those boots you had your eyes on for weeks now!

10. Buy yourself flowers (fresh-cut or fake) weekly, to add a crowning touch to your clean home.

Love Yourself this Valentine's Day

Love Yourself this Valentine's Day

If you won't be getting caressed with chocolate, flowers, and whisked off to Snuggle land on Valentine's Day, there's no reason to mope. Love yourself - Do something for yourself! On this day, you've earned yourself the golden ticket to buy the highest stilettos, savor the Godiva cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory, take a yoga class, or treat yourself to a spa day. It's important to take a mental health day in your life, dedicated to self-assessment. And what better day than on Valentine's Day? If you feel that you're worth much more, you probably are. So, say no more and enjoy the day peacefully until tomorrow when life begins. And maybe Prince Charming will grant all of your wishes next year? We can have hope.

My New Hair Stylist

Ladies, we all know how important it is too have a great communication and relationship with your hair stylist. I found the best stylist ever, she not only knows what look and style would look great on me but she really cares for my hair. She is young and hip and knows exactly what she is doing.
Your relationship with your hairstylist plays a big role in the outcome of your hairdo and can make all the difference when it comes to having a positive salon experience and a hairstyle that you're happy with.

I recently decided to change hair stylist, my previous hairdresser was not bad, she always knew how to blow out my hair and in someways understood my hair as well. ... however; her interest on just my hair was not there as I would of liked too.
My new hairstylist shows her involvement ,in my hair she takes her time with me and dedicates her perfectionism, and professionalism. I can really say she is a perfectionist when it comes to her clients, I love her and highly recommend her. If any of my readers attended my wedding or have seen pictures, well she is the young lady behind my lose curls and my make-up, Yes ladies not only is she a colorist professional but she is a make up artist as well, perfect right!. She also was the girl behind my bridesmaids make up... and for the record they all loved the way they looked.

Michelle, owns her salon, in which is lovely, it's an up to date salon, when she is working on your hair she has candles lid, music that suits your style, I'm telling you her salon atmosphere is very therapeutic in some way lol... She does an amazing job. Thanks girl for being so honest and telling me what goes with my hair and complexion. I love my new color. I can really say that i have found a hairstylist that i am happy, excited and feel comfortable with. I can also say that I am what they call in the industry a "faithful" client, one that understands the importance and benefits of lasting relationships with your hair stylist. That's all good, I am totally satisfied with all that my hairstylist has to offer to me in terms of my hair.
My hair stylist meets all my expectation:
• Offers new hairstyle ideas
• Checks to see if I am happy with the last hairstyle on the next visit.
• Gives me a run down on my hair's condition and general state without you asking for it
• Tells me techniques or ideas that could apply to my hair.
• She also gives the same amount of consultation time every visit, which I love, this is what some hairstylist lack, because they have clients waiting, they either rush with you, or sit you under the hair dryer for over an hour.
With this said there are just so many benefits in having a regular stylist. If, however, your stylist isn't giving you the attention you know that you should be getting, try talking with them first. If that doesn't fix things, then it's time to consider finding a new stylist, I know I did.
If you would like to give her a try, feel free to contact me and Ill give you her business information.

Beauty, Tips, and Trends

Today is a perfect day to stay home.... uggg I hate the snow! hopefully you are all feeling nice and warm.

Today, I want to blog about beauty, tips and trends. For Christmas our friends along with our husbands all got together for a dinner secret- santa night, we all had to bring in a gift, in which, we gathered them together picked a number and then choose a gift. Well the gift I received was by far one of the best of the night! I received a whole basket of Neutrogena products, OMG I love them. The Basket consisted of the latest and greatest lip gloss, face moisturizer, facial cleanser, body oil , candle and body lotion. I have been using everything in the basket and I love it. I wanted to share with you the body oil, this is fantastic! you apply this while your body is still damp from your shower, can I tell you once you have applied the oil, your body feels like it's baby skin, you will not find one piece of cracked or dry skin on you that's for sure. The Name of the Oil is Light Sesame Formula. Here is a picture in case you want to give it a try.

Its light sesame formula glides on easily to moisturize dry skin. It's so sheer it vanishes into shower-damp skin leaving it soft and silky, with a radiant, healthy-looking glow.

Right after I applied the sesame oil I then apply the body lotion. This is another magnificent product not only does it leaves you smelling good but your body feels silky. I have always been told that I am going to slip out of bed because of all the things I apply after my night shower. lol but this is really great.

Description: Penetrating moisturizers and sesame oil return a luxurious suppleness to your skin with a simple pass of your hand.
Ladies and Gents, try it. I love it.

Our President!

Today we salute and honor with great pleasure, and future hopes our New President Mr. Obama.

I am excited and full of hopes, Our new President can and will make changes. As an American I am so lucky to have lived through such a special historical, memorable moment. Today , I, with great respect, pleasure , and admiration I salute our 44Th President.

By the start of the ceremony, the skies over Washington, D.C., were clear but for the thinnest wisps of cloud, as a blinding sun kept winter temperatures tolerable. As one Obama aide put it, "if Barack Obama can deliver 70 degrees and sunny in Chicago for Election Day in November, we never had any doubt the sun would shine on his inauguration."

Great respect,

Great Fortune

Courtesy of my boss, I figured I would share this with you enjoy!

Great fortune+++++++++++++++++++Remind yourself often of how fortunate you are. The more you realize and recall your good fortune, the more good and valuable things you can do with it. Try as often as you can
to realize how much more fortunate you are then many others
in this world rather then the other way. This is the key to realizing
good fortune.Your true fortune has little to do with the size of your bank account or your material assets. The greatest fortune you have is life itself, and the opportunity to live each moment with awareness and effectiveness. The news is full
of those so much more less fortunate and those who might
not ever be able to say or feel that. There is endless fortune in your ability to choose what to do with each moment. There is limitless fortune in your capacity to feel love, awe, compassion, gratitude and pure joy IF you open yourself up to it. Let go of your need to control
everything you do or commit to. Be free to try things after you deem
them to be worthy of your time and effort. Face your fears and
remove them as the blockages they are.Spend some time each day thinking about how truly fortunate you are. Let the warm feeling of that magnificent fortune permeate your awareness and allow yourself to be so very thankful for what it is you do have.
you do haveThe great fortune of your life is here and now. Live it with joy and meaning.

My Day Today

OMG, this morning was not a good one for me, for starters I don't drive in the snow, thankfully my colleague picked me up... so I get to work and I am busy as can be... not to mention tired, and exhausted well to the extend that i couldn't gather my thoughts... so that it-self, had me in a bad mood, I text my husband trying to trigger a fight but thank god I caught my self on time... but i still sent the text. Anyway, I go for my morning coffee, return to my work duties as i proceed opening my work e-mails, scrolling and opening each one and still hating life, I come across one that my boss whom is also life coach sent me... It could of not been any better for how I was feeling today, so I want to share it with my readers. I do feel better now.

Choose Your Thoughts

The power of feelings+++++++++++++++++++You can feel good for no reason at all. In fact, you can choose to feel any way you wish at any time and in any situation.Just remember that when you assume, you are thinking
of things in that way which brings an associated feeling or emotion.Whatever you desire, you desire because of the way you think it will make you feel. Whatever you avoid, you avoid because you don't wish to experience the feelings that you assume it will bring. .
Yet the fact is that your feelings are not controlled by your circumstances. Those feelings are determined by how you choose to think about and respond to various situations and events.Your feelings in any moment are yours to choose. You can choose to feel the wonderful reality of your most treasured dreams long before those dreams have been fully achieved. And when you do, you put yourself in a positive, powerful place from which you can surely make those dreams real. When you feel good for no reason, you immediately begin to create the reasons.Choose each day to feel the way you wish to feel, no matter what is going on around you. Then change your thoughts to support it
and let your feelings pull you toward the fulfillment of your destiny.

Hopefully this motivator helped you in any way.

On another note* there is not much going on in the celeb world for now. A few pics on my picture section.

Book Club

I had mentioned in prior post that I was in a book club... I love and enjoy it. The book club consist of 4 ladies all together, we meet about one's every 4 to 6 weeks. The books we are currently reading are more targeted for young adult type, but honestly I have fallen in love. . .. . . It's the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer! There are a total of 4 books and I just can't put them down. It's about romance, vampires and love. I am starting my third book, and once you start you cant stop!! You guys should definitely check it out! :)

One of the girls (Anna) is very much into vampire, Halloween type of things, she suggested the book, so we all agreed too. I can't thank her enough it was a good pick.

I will let you know more about the book with out giving too much away as I read through them. If you are looking to read a romance book with a little unreal twist, I strongly recommend this series .

My Today's Update!

This weekend was pretty hilarious, as for I am in a book club, which i will talk about at a later time. The book club is between 4 ladies... this weekend was our meeting, we spoke about the book, ate some appetizers, drank some wine. To make a long story short, our book club ended up into a karaoke night! neat less to say I got home at 2:20 am. It was great.

Moving right along, Fergie, has joined the married club, this past weekend Friday the 9th Fergie said her I do's to fiance Josh. Congrats to them.

On another note. Jessica Alba, had a surprise bday party for her hubby Cash. The party consist of 80 guests, she planned everything to the T and perfecting. The surprise birthday bash was held in Vegas. Mr. Warren was extremely surprised, and emotional to have so many people he loved there, he then went on to say the following:

He went on to thank everyone for showing up and said, "I would be remiss if I didn't thank my beautiful wife and best friend in the whole world, Jessica. I can't tell you how surprised and happy I was to see all of you. Those tears were real. I can't act. It doesn't run in the family. But it's tears of love for all of you. I was so surprised and happy to see all of you."

As most of you know my hubby's bday is soon approaching next month, I have been looking into having a surprise bday bash as well... A Sports Theme Party. Let's see how this goes. lol I am not sure if I am going to go through with the party yet, at this point I am just looking into places... I will keep you posted on this. Should you have any ideas please feel free to share with me.

I have to get ready now. Enjoy your day. I will be heading to the movie's with my cousin to watch Brides War, since her and I had our wedding a month a part got engaged a month within each other ,we both figured it would be fun to watch the movie together... I guess we will both talk about the movie as soon as we watch it. Don't forget Desperate Housewives tonight.

Just A little Something For Your Mind & Soul

You all must think that I always write these long Posting, and yes your thoughts are right! However, I have tons of things to write about ,express and share! Hopefully you enjoy reading because a lot of my postings will be kind of long. My point of view, opinion or rather my facts for me is that, Life is not only about what we are in the outside, its who we are in the inside and how we apply it to our selves and others! it's what we feed our mind and soul, that makes you pretty, and smart.. . With this said enjoy, hopefully you can take something from here and apply it to your life or learn from it... we are never to old or young to learn from each other.

Enjoy, hopefully we can all acknowledge what is important in our lives, if at some point we feel confused, lost, or unsure of our live path! Trust me it has happened to me and at time it still does. Life is not perfect nor it is intended to be, however; we have the solutions within our hands. sgs

"There comes a point in our lives where we realize who matters, who doesn't, who never did & who always will. Don't worry about those left behind there is a reason why they are not a part of you today & will not be a part of your future."

"If it's part of your destiny you can't lose it no one can take it away, but if it's not there is no way possible to hold onto what doesn't belong to you and one must let go. What is meant to be, will always be."

"You never know what you have until you have lost it, and never know what you have been missing till arrives."
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can`t go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When it`s time to let go; let go.
There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.
Some relationships, like glass, are best left broken. Sometimes, you need to take a step back and admire what it was, instead of going through the pain of putting it back together. Even worse, to find out there was nothing strong enough to bond it together in the first place
In life we are forced to make changes some good some bad but its not what choices we make it`s how we deal with them and over come each obstacale.
For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin...real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.
This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one. Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

The most wonderful of all things in life is the discovery of another human being with whom one`s relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvellous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you`ll understand what little chance you have of changing others.
I know I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but the worst one was thinking that the person who hurt me the most, wouldn`t hurt me again.
Some make it happen, some watch it happen, and some say, "What happened?

Today's Post

Ladies "Sex and The City" Movie Sequel is Confirmed.
Based on my research and web information it appears that the New York City Ladies are back one more time. Wooo Whooo. I am excited.

Also remember Donna Martin from my old time favorite show 90210? Tori Spelling is in negotiation for possible joining the cast of the new 90210. Good I'm happy, hopefully we can have the old time cruel back, that would be great right?

Did anyone watched the Bachelor? Once again, I am hooked on this show. This season they have choosen none-of-the less my number one pick Jason with his son Ty. What was Diana Papas thanking in not choosing him! Well from the looks of the previews it appears as if she regrets not choosing him and returns for some apprent reason... but guess what Missy a little too late, she should of chosen him not Jessy, but anyways the show is back and he is looking better than ever and yes I am hooked on the show. scroll down to my picture section and enjoy his picture ladies. Also click on the link to see when Deanna turns him Jason down :(

Regarding Barbara Bermudez, (you can find her picture at the bottom) she is naming her baby Mia Andrea. Her husband name is Mario Andres so I guess this is why. Cutesie!

Below find some Nicole Richie, Hubby and Harlow at the park pictures.
