Feeling Glam

Good morning lovelies!! Hope you had a wonderful long weekend!! I definitely need some extra coffee and good intentions to start the week after all the work, house chores... plus all the eating I indulged in the last couple of days!!!
Speaking about intentions, this cute baby doll totally inspired me to just put my comfy shorts and tops away and open the drawer of lace night-gowns, glam and satin nighties! Isn't this pretty? I purchased this little number from Victoria Secret. Ladies, sexy mothers, Single girls.. at the end is about treating ourselves special... and nothing like some leopard baby-doll to feel glamorous and sexy! I have a drawer filled with sexy sleepwear, for these are items I love to buy, plus I had a lingerie wishing well at my bridal shower, where I received lots of sexy sleep wear as gifts. How do you sleep?

Let's start the week with a fabulous sexy one!

A Fashion Mom Always In Heels That's ME!

Hello lovies, sorry I have been a little MIA, but I have been extremely busy, with marriage, parenting, work, along with new exciting projects and everything in between. With that being said, busy and tired has been my middle name these days, I know a lot of working moms out there can relate to my experience.

My family lives the American way – we have no house help so the husband and I have to divide some house chores, but sometimes the chores, errands, and mommy obligations on top of my work can be a bit overwhelming. Also with my son's sports and kids activities, this takes up too much of my attention these days, between work, and being a business owner, plus the activities, along with trying to multiply clients, I feel super tired.

So I ask, how do you survive your day-to-day fellow friends? Here is my plan of action, I am trying to make daily schedules but it seems easier to do on paper but extremely hard to follow. With so much going on, at times this seems crazy to follow, so I am putting this to the test! I have always been the one to live by my organizer and jot down everything, suddenly things just got to crazy with work and a new business, that I lost the time lines of my organizer. No fear, I am back on track, and happy and excited and continuing on to accomplish my new goals.... Although I am tired... I am the mom who is always in heels striving to make things happen.

As you can all tell, I have changed my blog title from Fashiongirls to A Fashion Mom Always In heels, That's Me! I believe this is more of the person that I am, because I am always in heels and I love fashion and most of all I am a mom. I hope you continue to enjoy my blog and the diversity I bring to you all.

Book Club Pick

My book club pick for last month was "The Pilot's Wife"

Imagine hearing knocking in the middle of the night. You think it's a dream, but it's not. You think it's your child. Your husband. Your neighbor. A car accident.

Suddenly you wake up and realize your worst fear. Your child is in bed. Your husband is flying in from London, due home in a few hours. That knocking is at your door. It's not your neighbor, and to a pilot's wife it can only mean one thing.

She flipped on the back-door light and saw, beyond the small panes set into the top of the door, a man.

As she reached for the knob, she thought, Not a burglar, not a rapist. Definitely not a rapist. She opened the door.

"Mrs. Lyons?" he asked.

And then she knew.

This is Kathryn Lyons' story. She opens the door to find she is a widow. Jack, her husband, was the pilot of a plane that went down off the coast of Ireland. One hundred and three lives were lost. There were no survivors.

There's barely any time to grieve. This is a national story and very shortly, reporters will descend on the property looking for any details they can find.

The man at the door is Robert. He is from the pilot's union. His job is to be with the family, handle the press and ask questions. He is a source of comfort, as Kathryn must find the strength to tell her 15 year-old daughter that Jack has died. Mattie doesn't take it well, naturally.

Just as the news of Jack's death sinks in, Kathryn receives horrible news. Based on the cockpit voice recordings, initial investigators think Jack committed suicide, bringing a bomb on the plane that killed everyone on board. Kathryn is forced to evaluate her relationship with Jack. She's adamant that he didn't kill himself and all those aboard, but there are still nagging questions. Mysterious notes, poetry on scraps of paper, highly unusual behavior from a man she thought she knew.

At a time when Kathryn should be rebuilding her life with her daughter, she is forced to find the answers to questions she doesn't want to know. She embarks on a transcontinental journey to find the truth about her husband, her marriage, her life.

The Pilot's Wife ponders the question How well can we ever really know another person?

This is a story of tragedy, love, betrayal and healing. However, it is Kathryn's story alone. We follow her as she learns of her husband's death at the beginning of the story all the way to the interesting conclusion. The events are there, but we learn of them as Kathryn experiences them, not before she does. This makes readers feel the tragedy of death and the healing process as well.

The Pilot's Wife is a compelling tale, despite the depressing subject matter. Kathryn is a bright character. She's intelligent and trusting, which lets the reader accept the fact that she didn't know there was a problem with her marriage. Even Mattie, the daughter, has realistic reactions to the events and Shreve is to be commended for these portrayals.

. That being said, don't be afraid to read The Pilot's Wife. Yes, I know I said the subject matter is depressing, but it is interesting as well. The characters are genuine, and that's hard to find in many of today's books. So read it and be thankful there are still some authors out there that write intelligent novels. Anita Shreve is one of those writers. Enjoy!

What would you do if you find out after your husband is dead that he lives another life, he had another family in which you were oblivious to this?

Beautiful Pregnant Tia Mowry

TIA MOWRY

As part of "embracing the sexuality" of her pregnancy, The Game actress recently posed for a glammed-up (and revealing!) belly photo. "I know that there are people out there who say that there is nothing sexy about being pregnant," says the first-time mom, who is expecting a baby boy on July 3. "[But] I feel empowered; I feel sexy."

Ten Exercise Tips

I have been working out consistently for the past month and half, although I am no expert no am I in shape I wanted to share the 10 tips in exercising... I recently started working out with a trainer and here are some tips I put together.

  1. See your doctor before you start any exercise program. Get a full physical to make sure everything's in working order, then find a personal trainer in your neighborhood and make an appointment with him or her for a consultation. Most trainers will give you a free consultation and help you figure out what your fitness level is, your body fat and circumference measurements, and the right way to start a program.
  2. Start Slow! Many beginners make the mistake of doing too much when they first start out. If you haven't worked out in a while (or ever) start with a walking program of about 20 to 30 minutes, 3 days a week. Each session, add a few minutes to your workout to progress each week.
  3. Write down your workouts every day, making notes about what you did, how you felt and how you improved since your last workout, you may find a book that is the workout journal at you gym. I keep a journal with this book its a 12 week accomplishment.
  4. Schedule your workouts each week, just like you would a doctor's appointment.
  5. Harass your best friend, spouse or significant other into working out with you, I personally do not have a problem working out on my own, but I am lucky enough to also have tons of friends and my husband who also attends to the same health club I do, which means I am always working out with someone.
  6. Every day, ask yourself how you will make your life healthier. It can be as simple as drinking more water or parking farther away from the front door, trust me some little scarfacies every day comes in handy.
7. Reward yourself! Give yourself a massage when you reach your goals, or maybe some new workout clothes or a new shirt to go with your new weight.

8. Set daily or weekly goals. Long term goals are great, but are so far away we often forget why we're working so hard. To stay motivated, write down a daily or weekly goal and then follow number 7 (rewarding yourself) if you reach it.

9. Prepare for your workout the night before by packing your gym bag or, if you work out at home, laying out your workout clothes so when you get home, you're ready to go, I keep my gym bag in my car, just in case I decide to go straight from work.

10. Eat regularly throughout the day so you don't bonk during your workout.

Simple Mommy Note

Mom Note From Me To You!

As a mom of of two, I understand how difficult it is to balance a career and family obligations. As moms we understand the word sacrifice and at times have given it new meaning. As I meander through my day and fall into bed at night exhausted, I often wonder how women like myself do it. How do busy moms and wives hold it all it together while staying utterly fashionable? I ponder this question quite often because it is so easy to get overwhelmed by life an motherhood. More often than not, I see moms shelping about in "mom" jeans and wearing their workout gear from the early am late into the afternoon. But then every so often I spot that mom that has red hot style. Moms, it is okay at times to dress down, but we must try to always look good even if we are not walking in heels all day, this helps your self esteem, also let us not forget we must look good for our husbands. I find myself, on days that all I want to do is walk around in sweats and when I feel this is way... then I do just that, without allowing this to turn into a habit. I need to dress up, I need my heels in my life and the makeup, this makes me feel me and pretty and it even helps the mood change from sloppy and tired to pretty and sexy!!! Now vamp up my mommy friends Lets get PRETTY!
there is nothing sexier and prettier than a good looking hot mommy :)
